I don't know how many people use this little trick, but I did a search on smart objects and didn't find any threads. That being said, I recently tried using smart objects to see if you could just link an image to a layer in Photoshop. Sure enough, you can! Lots of time saved not having to manually open files and copying…
Hi l'm new here, been having a problem generating clean ambient occlusion bake, l can't replicate the same results from watching videos and my bakes have roundish instead of a smooth gradient occlusion. The first picture was a bake l did a long time ago and thats the quality l'm aiming for.
Hi. When I try to bake normal map in Marmoset Bake tool, program is stop work. All time if I add 30k triangle model to Low. Why? If I add million polygon (not triangle) model to low, no problem. But more than 15-20k triangle model in Bake/Low section causes the program to crash
I like where this is going. I think your mom might be reacting to the lighting on the grayboxed meshes, how they have darker shadows. One quick fix could be to add a darker sky up above, and optionally a bit of vignette. These make it instantly a bit more dangerous looking.
i've baked quite a few meshes, usually without any problems. But the mesh that I have now has some really strange artefacts and I do not know why. I am trying to bake maps on my mesh from Marvelous Designer, which yesterday went just fine. Now I changed the UV map an baking is just not going well. I think maybe the HP…
I'm a beginner artist currently trying to figure out baking normal textures to from my high to my low poly character model. After failing to figure this out on my own, I'm hoping there will be a wizz here who can fix my issue. The problem is that my normals simply aren't working properly after the bake, I can hardly notice…
Hi, I'm trying lighten up the load for rendering real-time shadows in a game by baking the shadows for distant objects into the vertices of the models. Really cheap and old school! I'm doing the baking in Max using a Direct light and Assign Vertex colours in the Vertex paint modifier. If I set the light to onmi or spot it…
ray traced shadows only make a sharp shadow if your lightangle is zero.. THIS is a raytraced shadow with a lightangle of 1.5 and only 1 shadow ray and it exactly looks like your bake....
I have a highpoly and lowpoly models of basket, and i want to use baked color id as mask for opacity after, but it doesn't bake at all. I assigned new material on HP model and tried to bake in maya and marmset - nothing, just flat texture. I don't know mb i don't see something obvious here, pls help.
For baking normal maps, as a rule of thumb if your mesh has edges that are 90 degrees or greater, that is when you harden the edge and split UVs? or is that not necessary? If your weapon model doesn't have a contiguous mesh and is made up of different pieces, that is when you do an exploded bake. Then the next step would…
