KB12 was correct: You can have 128 texture samples if you use the shared sampler: https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?85868-Texture-samplers-limitation-is-still-present-in-4-9 -

Yeah, I was screaming that during commercials to my roommate gir. I'd be shocked if that isn't the case. The twist with the 9 left bit is cool too. I'm anxious to see what the deal is with that. -

The history wipe has been around for a while hasn't it? I think I remember hitting it in max8-9. I think it happens when it autosaves? Glad to hear there's a fix coming! -

what Ryno said. I also tend to "save as .fx file" so you can load it up in a "directx 9 shader" I seem to get better results that way. -
