Actually, Theme is what everyone have been working on and posting it in Pimp and previews. The deadline was very short...7th of April? O.O I hope this one have extended deadline and selection of theme(s).

yeah, I agree wth fonfa about desaturating the fruit. It appears to be glowing atm, and there is so much cool detail going on, I find the fruit distracting. Really good progress so far!

for the tire, it is very repetitive, you can try and chop the hubcap into 5ths (cut it like a pizza) and the actual tire tread into a smaller chunks, the only thing is that they have to tile, but then you can have a higher resolution on the tire tread and the hubcap ;)
I know how to use xNormal. But I wan't to use mental ray. Once I rendered sth that looked better. I just don't know what setting to use for it to look good. Just share your settings.

Quick note, the deadline for the contest has been pushed back to July 18th as we got a lot of feedback from people wanting to participate but currently crunching for E3. This should give them a little more time to work on their submission.
