@Oblivion2500 yeah, I'm looking forward to the GabeCube @iv0_art cool! yeah I think I'll get a new sdd for my laptop and install ububtu on it and dual boot for a bit to test things out. I switched to Godot for a personal project, and have been enjoying that -- I use maya and photoshop, but could probably be fine switching…
Has anyone seen any good information regarding approach to modelling building facades (Modular? like walls and windows, ornaments, stairs. i want to try build a small VR scene of some new york building (80's) . Thanks so much!!
What approach do you recommend for modeling this while including all the vents? I'm currently using booleans, but I'm curious about how you would avoid having too many edges around the model just for the vents. Are there any helpful tutorials out there?
As title, it's could be a weird question but, there is a way to sculpt and paint a model in uv morph mode? When i go in morph uv mode and the model flat itself i can sculpt it but when i come back all come back normaly, there is a way to made the modification stay? Thanks and sorry for my broken english.
Nice! Yeah, those were formative years for me as well. I jumped onto Polycount sometime around 2001/2002. We were all dealing with normal mapping, trying to handle skin with blue-colored specular maps, and learning about subdivision surface modeling. Heady days!
Hey! Thanks for the quick feedback. To clarify: * I am using 16-bit depth normal maps, exported in PSD format. * Regarding the World Space Normal map: I do use it as an input for a specific diffuse plugin to improve my texturing workflow. * About the seams: I definitely understand that a color shift at the UV borders is…
I'm currently working with a small team here we definitely need way more people. I work primarily as director and creative director. I work physically. here are some examples of recent work: https://youtu.be/WfpOwDRSJr8?si=j76L-rSHEfl_Ms9B https://youtu.be/kT9YXc0gB14?si=skBP64QdE9sZslI8 but that aside, I am making an…
Hey everyone, I want to improve my 3D modeling skills and aim to create something similar to the black dragon model below. The model appears to be fully rigged and ready for animation. What software should I learn to achieve this level? Which techniques should I focus on? I’m currently using Blender, but I’m not sure what…
Hey there, I'm pretty new to this forum but I was wondering if I could get some feedback on this CRT TV model I'm making. I've been trying really hard recently to really get good at 3D modeling and actually learn industry standard techniques and stuff like that. I plan on duplicating and subdividing this to make a highpoly…
I finally got a bit more time to carve away at this model. I was really hoping to push more on him last month, but that wasn't in my favor. Here's my current update. I tried seeing what the helmet might look like on him, but it doesn't go well with the current concept of him I am working from. Fits better with the cleaner…
