For the amount of work you put into the highpoly models (especially since you sub-d model so much of it), I don't think the ingame came out very well. It works, but I'm sure it could've worked just as well with less time and effort. Although I also gather you're quite comfortable and effecient with sub-d modeling, so don't…

My advice would be that start from the lowest subdivision level and sculpt as much as you can to adjust proportions and stance of your character. At every sub-d level consider the limits of the polygon count and sculpt all over the character as much you can, to keep everything at the same level of detail. I would say that…
long ago D key was temporary pivot for object mode but as far as i know from 2008 the d key does permanent pivot editing for object mode. for component(vertex, edge, face) selection D key is temporary. also in 2009 when you select component mode and press D you should also see a tiny blue circle on top of the manipulator and…
Is there any non-destructable method for adding sub-d to a mesh other than using SubDiv proxy? This seems to be pretty wanked, needing to have two meshes and all. I've run into some various problems, one example being: I set up some keyframes on my cage mesh, move the objects around etc, and that all works fine and good.…
Retopologising the sub-d mesh is a redundant step. The low-poly cage mesh that you are sub-dividing will be your low. You can just make a few necessary changes, if needed, without disturbing the silhouette. The 120 sided wheel is also unnecessary. Just add enough segments that the silhouette looks good for the low and then…
To try and answer those questions: (This is the way i understand it, so feel free to shout at me if I get it wrong =D ) If an object does not recieve any light, it will not reflect any light. And so, it will appear black. The reason why the diffuse is black is because metals have the special property of not allowing light…
i was in exactly the same spot as you :D i worked through two python books ( http://learnpythonthehardway.org/ http://www.openbookproject.net/thinkcs/python/english2e/ ) and wrote a small game with pygame - I then moved on to build a game in unity with boo ( which is very similar to python ) and then switched over to c#…
@bounchfx I think once again Valve showed really nicely what we should also consider as singles with their TI immortals. I mean especially my 2 favorites: WR cloak and DP skirt with legs :D Btw. When I hear word UNIONS first thing I have in mind is a Detroit, or maybe what is left of it :D I would rather stay with friendly…
Hi there! :D Well, last semester at Uni.... This time, we have a task of modeling a dinosaur soooo... I chose Parasaurolophus walkeri. Painted a silhouette with help of images found on the internet, obviously we never know how EXACTLY it looked but i guess its pretty close... let me know if something looks odd to any of…
