I've been designing my first Unity environment, but I am having trouble figuring out the size of everything. My raise and lower terrain are too sensitive, even at 0 opacity. Which makes me think my terrain is too small? But at the same time, I feel like my textures are small, making me feel like my terrain is too big (I'm…
Hey guys ! I share with you my Lighting work created for the DLC White Noise. I managed the lighting for Day and Night version on this modern Korean structure. Enjoy ! ;) More images on my Artstation : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/bRA4n
Latest: Had a crack at sorting the lighting out a bit, i'm liking it a lot more now but still not quite right. Having trouble getting the balance right between too much ambient light making it not seem like dusk/night and too little to see the detail. Made a mesh with an orangey rain material on for under the street lamps…
Hey all, So I'm trying to put together a sample level for our game's pitch video and running into some weird lighting problems. Its hard to explain so I'll just show the video: http://youtu.be/ry6RnuHFhLQ Basically as you can see, the light seems to get darker and almost black depending on the angle of the camera. If I…
A friend at work has shown me how to do this. You need to use a surfillum maya node to tell the ao shader to only show up in the shadowed areas. Really nifty for tuning your light rig right in the render view instead of having to composite it later. If anyone wants to work this way let me know and I'll post the shading…
Hey, Sephez. Jolly god work so far. Riddlaz advices were spot so I just thought I'd add a bit on top i'm sorry the overapint is so clumsy but I tried to be reaaal fast. 1.Because plants come in all forms and sizes, the benches are your size reference in this scene. And for me it felt a bit lost by those huge yellow leaves.…
Okay, so how many of you cannot draw to save your life? Does it effect your 3D work in a noticeable way? THEN! How many of you CAN draw to save your life but started out not being able to draw at all and does that increase your 3D skill? My problem is that I have these ideas in my head but I cannot get them onto paper…
Hi all :) Working on some foliage at the moment and I can't for the life of me figure out what's best to do with my grass. I'm struggling to produce decent cast shadows without the back of the alpha showing too dark or the planes seeming to shadow onto each other. Here's where I'm at currently as well as the material…
Thank you! you seem to be right about the lighting rightnow. But, it's just a quick realtime render from 3D Coat. In the end If I done this into a game resolution with maps I might as well throw it to Marmoset for better presentation. And about functionality. I gotta admit that I'm really weak and miss out for this one. It…
Hey there! Adding onto what's already been said, it might benefit you to change up the tree textures a bit. From the angle in the second image they're very shiny, and almost look untextured due to the shiny birch like texture they have right now. I would say increase the roughness, and maybe give the texture a second pass.…
