Hey. Thanks for the cool program. I've been learning the workflow over the past week and we are about to use it on a game as one of our main texturing applications. I've just downloaded 2.0 and am checking it out. I created ton of materials for 1.8 today, but it seems I can't use them with 2.0. They don't show in the…
i can't make anything more complex than a low poly stylized tree but it's at least something. i need to train myself. i watched a basic tools and modifiers crash course and the first thing i created was this which took me half an hour. 1: i have a barely gta v capable laptop which works with blender eevee without crashes,…
Hello there ! Here is finally how i've done it with vray. It's fairly simple, but since i'm shit at understanding technical papers, i struggled long time. So i've simply overidden the mesh normals with applying 3 different materials with a special color in the bump channel as normal map for each. This is the technic i was…
Yeah, 1600:1200 divided by 100 = 16:12 divided by 4 = 4:3 (aspect ratio). Which is standard. If you can divide the first number by 4 and the 2nd number by 3, you should be safe (16:9 for widescreen monitors usually). 1280 divides by 4, 960 divides by 3 ... 1024 does not divide by 3, so it's not a true 4:3 aspect.

you get a soul from killing that dragon, and it permanently removes the dragon from that level, letting you run through. I'd recommend getting a good bow first, and take as many arrows that you can afford/carry! Killing the dragon is crucial if you want to take your world to Black, at the entrance to the castle there is…
Not entirely sure what they mean by "2 1024x1024 texture sets" - that implies that if you're making 3 props, you can spread them across 2 1024x1024s. I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean you can use a 2048x1024 for a single prop. Also if they don't mention lightmaps at all then I wouldn't assume they are taking that into…
Hey everyone! I'm thrilled to finally unveil my completed game environment! This is a small-scale reimagining of the iconic Roundtable Hold from Elden Ring. My goal was to improve and demonstrate my skills. I introduced archways with statues (inspired by the original concept art), as well as a grand staircase with a runner…
Quake 3, hands down. I haven't worked with Doom 3's engine much, so I can't say a whole lot about it in regards to likes and dislikes. It's been roughly the same working with it as Quake 3, but since I don't do this for a living it's kind of hard to put Doom 3 up there. Anyway, I like Quake 3 because the art pipeline is…
proportionally i like the widescreen a bit better, it has a good feel for modeling apps(plenty of side space for toolbars etc, tho i guess with a 4:3 you get the same pixels width wise, just more top-bottom. I would be interested to see the ... dot-pitch or whatever difference with a 24 wide and 24 4:3, something tells me…
