ingame, unless your editor supports some kind of instant update- save particle file, updates ingame instantly. Seeing things update in context is priceless
the main things to worry about are 1. build quality/system testing by the oem 2. support 3. updates/upgrades if you just want a mid range system asus would probably be good enough. but if you want to get a workstation with say a GTX680m, 2 hdd, and highend processors then i would never think about asus or alienware/dell.…
Heres some updates on lighting, the tree is finished uvs as well as texture updates. I've also started with my skybox. Tons of crap still to do and I'll start with updates on the church soon.

That's why I keep Windows update off. I can update as I choose, don't get prompts, and don't have to worry about accidentally trying to download a game or something and Windows updates.
