Assuming your project involves high to low poly bake workflow? then from my perspective both elements completed thus far seem fine, imo nicely quadrafied too project an optimised proxy off of. As for face counts including relative number of cylinder segments, well they're dependent upon screen space this object or parts…
This is only necessary when your lowpoly mesh it too lowpoly and there are no verts at the place of highpoly details. The ray direction upon baking will go along average normal directions. So imagine this same mesh with averaged normals displayed. That is the reason for why did you get the distortion, because the "view…
If iterating quickly is a priority you might consider using UE4 or Marmoset 2 (something with a PBR workflow) to get a rough idea of what your materials will look like in a physically based rendering system. That will allow you to quickly make adjustments to your textures and materials and hopefully get you 80% of the way…
Hi there, I think for the price point you are offering you may be better off looking in an asset store for character models. Usually you can find them for decent prices, somewhere closer or within your budget. Character models can take days to weeks to complete, and to commission someone to make unique character models…
I agree with the previous poster who stated that eric now win. everything. Was one of my favorite games back in the days. Not up there with LBA tho. One of my favorite games of all time! The sequel was good too, but there was something about that first one, when it came out i had the best gaming experience of my life, and…
For those who applied for the Blitz Studios open days, today is results day :) Who else got a place, and on which day? It would be cool to meet up with some fellow polycounters. Anyone been on previous years and got comments or advice to give?
[ QUOTE ] Gnomewerks, I don't understand your issue. [/ QUOTE ] I came across as though I was personally attacking you and a bit harsh. For that I am sorry. My logic was simple. The turtle piece is an obscure piece on a random page in an art book that people may never really see. I randomnly happened to be looking through…
Hi, Quick question; do Painter and Designer have the latest iRay SDK yet? I can't seem to be able to get past the warm-up phase when initializing iRay on my GTX 1060 in Painter. In Designer, iRay is initialized but it doesn't actually render anything, it just freezes the 3D view. Thanks
Objects act as light sources when ray tracing is enabled, all you need to do is give them an emissive material. Emissive materials require quite a few samples to resolve though, so you may need to increase your sample count for good quality renders.
Hi, I really don't work with UE some time ago, but in general if you look for a god-ray ambient light, you may utilise a/some plane/s with transparency texture that simulate clouds obstruction for a sun light (direct light) or a spot light with a texture map. In general this is the most simple way to achieve god-ray…
