So, from what I understand compositing is the last step of the process in an animation/movie/show, constructed from live and 3d footage. Being the last step, I was wondering how much of a grasp of the previous steps I need to have. I know basic modeling (not very good at it)and basic rigging. Thanks
Made a step by step (6 steps) guide on how to become an artist for Art Stuff episode 36! Hope you like it. Its all my opinion, of course - but yeah :D ! Hope this might help some of you out there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xsObHKA8E8
Hey there, My name is Alex and I’m currently studying Game Art at SAE Institute Germany. For my Bachelor Project I decided to create an environment based on a self-written Story. Accordingly, I would like to bring this story into my environment and do storytelling. This is a type of group work. My group partner makes a…
Kevlar jens: Thanks man! Gonna keep posting more often from now on. Sorry I've been away, everyone. Things are getting progressively busier and busier, but it's all good because I'm happily employed at Riot Games as an associate concept artist! I'm living with my friend in fumy downtown Los Angeles trying to find a place…
That looks better edit+ Those steps near the tower I would give those more of an incline . Looking at the concept sketch there would be a bit more of a drop to the second wall . The steps are spaced to close together it looks like maybe there should be 2 steps instead of 4 right now .
Creating a 100-step stair in Maya would actually be pretty easy. Just make one step and duplicate once, transform it to the place of the next step then duplicate with transform for the next 98 (which means that you just have to hold the key down for a few seconds.) Pretty straightforward.

I'm sure someone will come by and pick up the name, or buy the studio. 3D Realms is a very well established brand, and we'll probably see it resurface with some new management. Step #1 Get some business school sharks to come and restructure the company. Step #2 ........ Step #3 Profit!!
The problem is that the step, and the end of the side beam of the steps doesn't line up wht the floor compared to the grid. I made a paintover to show how they could be lined up, and the it will snap. Basically: the floor's bottom on the start of the stair is on a grid line, so you'll need the last step's bottom to be…
After some "zbrush-beginner-panic-attacs" I went back and decided to do the shield material by material in zbrusch, render the normal an AO in Xnormal and then add them together in Photoshop. Small steps.. step by step :) Today I did the golden rings: Zbrush Render 3DO Render (non PBR)
