I think the metal on the stock is still missing the mark. If you're going for tarnished silver, there's no reason to have that rough, bump normal map detail there. Tarnished silver looks more like this: The broad forms are still very smooth. Again your normal map detail there suggests cast iron or something very rusty.
@poopipe thanks for responding. I already tested a 3 slats, with skinning and bones with the same spline all worked fine in max and Unity. The actual main asset is with multiple groups, 2 LOD’s and many objects in hierarchies. These two shutters are separate from one another are the only skinned objects with bones, a…
Hi, Is any one else as foxed by the material editor in Unreal 3 as I am? I'm trying to make a silver fire extinguisher, essentially a silver reflection cube map with an alpha mapped grime texture over the top of it. Should be pretty easy but I have a cube mapped reflection and a grime texture with an alpha channel but I…
This looks much better... Just to push this a bit further maybe consider the colour blends between surfaces... like the reflections from bounce lights should be considered to take the texturing to the next level so the golds should receive a little bit of red/dark silver etc from the parts surrounding it and vice versa on…
Alright here's a update on the beretta and the hovercraft. I decided to try out and make a silver version of the beretta however im not totally liking how it turned out. Any ideas on the black and silver version? The hovercraft i've started on the spec, what i've worked with in the spec so far is mostly the body chassis,…
Whoa, lots of great work being built! @richithekiller Looking much nicer with the red glow. Would be nice to see the glow blend out over a greater distance. @Ike Ike, thanks for sharing the maps! great reference! @katzeimsack could you perhaps blend both the silver and brown textures? Using the brown as dirt mask over a…
It does look like this but I don't recall it having such a heavy interface, also when walking around, I believe you could actually see your character(s) The characters where more "drawn" not so "real" btw I loved Cadaver and Silver, but thats not the one I'm looking for :/ Silver was one of the reasons I never gave up 3D…
To start off the new year i will be attempting to model and texture. Finer details: 1. 10 ¼” overall length. 2. Fine one piece ebony grip. 3. Silver finished crossguard. 4. Fine 5” unmarked blade showing some superficial staining. 5. Blade and grip perfectly tight together. 6. Silver mounted leather scabbard. Reference…
Zak you really should change your post title. From reading the posts its obvious no one really gets that this WAS a Steampunk gun at one time that you are now scrapping off most of the Steampunk elements to make it appear to be a more modern gun. You can edit your first post and change the title. As for the gun I think the…
