hi there in next week i will need to deal with a lot of import and export obj files(thousands). im trying to get organized myself. i use http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/downloads/scripts-plugins/rendering/c/open-maya-project-images-folder and i create my folders and and is a easy way to get acess to them without much…
So I am sending a model of mine to get printed and i need to now pose it for the printer... the issue is that my SSD got corrupted :( and left me with my videogame Lowpoly .obj version and my Highpoly .obj that i xnormaled with. I tried to rig my HP version with zspheres but i get weird particles and that same goes with…
Hey all, I'm still new to the normal map pipeline, so maybe this is an easy fix and I just don't know how to do it. I built a futuristic shotgun model in Maya and exported to an OBJ, UV mapped it in Headus UV Layout and then brought it into ZBrush for sculpting. The sculpt wasn't anything fancy, mainly just smoothing the…
my beta license expired today, which I had no idea would happen.. luckily, I had my work saved to obj otherwise I could be looking at stuff locked in silo2 beta format... mine, and mops have both expired. I've only managed to find one or two other references to expired versions on the web, but I bought mine fairly close to…
I know there´s already a thread about this, but i think my problem is a little different. After unwrapping I exported the model as .obj file. In Milkshape the model shows up fine...but the Uvmaps seem to be f*cked. Looking at the Uvmap in milkshape´s editor i realized that all of my sews are gone...as well as a bunch of…
Well I'm still pretty new at zbrush and I'm running into a problem, currently I have a zbrush file with multiple sub-tools the problem is that i need to merge two sub-tools together and wield them together to make it one seamless mesh. I tried following this tutorial on youtube [ame]…
There is a scale setting in zbrush under the export menu: http://docs.pixologic.com/reference-guide/tool/polymesh/export/ Zbrush scales your model by the numbers in this menu when you export it. If you make an OBJ in another program and import it into zbrush you'll see that it automatically sets the scale in the export…
sometimes files go bad, get corrupt etc. instead of trying to figure it out what i do is just start a new file and rebuild with clean geometry from the old file. so what i would do in your case is this... 1) export your objects on the lowest and highest level as obj's. 2) import your set of low obj's into a new file. 3)…
Thanks for the swift reply, MoP. They are grouped for ease of selection (I saved the steps out into their own file), but Max is still having a coronary trying to export the OBJ. At this stage, I'm going to try splitting the object up into several sections, and export them out individually. Max just simply can't seem to…
Most of my models are polygrouped so i just color fill each polygroup that needs a separate material and then generate a texture at high poly. If you paint color with a brush use 0 focal on the brush so you get sharp edges. I would also be interested in how to use the fbx swatch file in Zbrush though. Could be useful to…
