---Project 001 welp this is my first ever post here at Polycount, hello everyone! here it goes! This is a project I have been working on a while on the side just to keep my self in shape. This was actually an art test I did for a company but decided to make it a practice lighting and texturing project- I think so far so…

Setting up these relatively low poly assets, roughly 500 tris each. I'm okay with the meshes but the textures just aren't convincing me. Textures have always been a bit frustrating to me so I'd like to hear any kind of feedback or if I'm missing something painfully obvious direct me to a Textures 101 tutorial if it's that…
Built all the levels in Max and then had to seperate every polygon that I wanted to light up on its own when the player stood on it. I'll always remember how the coliseum was broken down into 600+ seperate pieces and it took hours. Obviously human error meant I missed a few polygons and at some point I must have used the…
If people just wanted the best performance to price ratio everyone would have $600 computers. People tend to set a limit on what they are willing to spend, and then pick parts using that price point. AMD's are definitely the way to go if you want to cheapest but most powerful rig possible. But if you want to drop $1.2k on…
Scale is a big issue here, a mountain is not actually a mountain until it's around 600 meters high or so. And with this type of terrain mountain you've got here it'll start looking weird real-quick unless you make the mountain bigger. I'd spend some time making sure you have resident houses as well somewhere, if not within…
@Mirar : Thanks. Actually it's not really a warrior or something, more like a mount for a merchant ;) Here's the "low poly" for the toad I worked on. Well I don't know if I still call it low poly since it's almost 60k tris now :s For my defense, I'm planning to put that in the cryengine, and separate each pieces with…
