Sectaurs: Marriage doesn't HAVE to be exclusive ya know.
Ben: Mas congrats! Also good to see you on the boards again.
Thread question:
I'm married too. Been like 2 years now I think? Yeah gonna be 3 in February. (seems I only keep track for other people anyway) Its had its rough spots but I'm still quite happy with her. I got married like, just before Rawkstar, and was going to post here about it, but felt way too much like a "HEY ME TOO!" thread.
edit: All my girls are very supportive of my chosen vocation, though some have trouble getting into games themselves for various reasons.
been married 8 years this September 1st. I worship the ground she walks on and We gots 4 rugrats, cuz their fun to make.
She does not have a clue how I do what I do, but she has always been Loving and Supportive the whole way.
Married going on 1 year this November. Been together since 2007. We just "clicked" and the rest is history. Shes into fashion. My friends say were a hip couple.
I don't know why but I too was a bit thrown off! Congrats on the marriage. And I have to ask, did that influence you leaving the country at all (marriage laws)?
Been seeing the same great girl for 3 years - super supportive of what I do!
Nope, I left because like Kovac said, I hate america. Not a communist though.
Where do you all usually meet your loved ones? Sounds like everyone is pretty happy, and having a spouse that supports what everyone does is awesome as well, good to hear
I found mine where all good things come from, the internet.
Wait, are we talking about what constitutes marriage in god's eyes, or are we throwing everything out there?
I kid. I kid. Now stop sending me gay porn at work. Not cool man...not cool.
lol, I'm gonna send you extra porn now. I have to remember to mix it up, something like a 2 good links to 1 goat porn is around the right ratio to keep em clicking.
I'm going on 3 years of marriage myself, and i'm loving it.
You got the programmer/artist thing going huh? I find that pretty interesting. I'm always trying to psychoanalyze people and their relationships....I think the "opposites attract" thing is very true in a lot of ways. Is it more about finding someone who complements you or finding someone who likes all the same things you do? Seems like most long-term relationships fall vaguely into one of those categories.
10 years now but not married, and am not likely to be as long as people keep bloody telling me i should be. You can all sod off.
tbh, i don't see that it would make a jot of difference anyway. Already got a house, 2 cars, a singing lobster, everything. It'd mostly be an excuse for a good party
oh, and WHAT a party. It's long planned. Everyone - and i mean everyone - has to come as prepared seafood. Not sealife, seaFOOD : you have to be a dish. My mum says she's got some great ideas for a prawn cocktail outfit.
but, hey, even that isn't going to happen until you SHUT UP about it, so there
Coming up to our six-year anniversary in November. She's a graphic / multimedia designer, and will be taking up the slack financially when I go get my degree in September.
Together a piffling (compared to some of the numbers being thrown around here) 3 months, not married.
She's a pretty hardcore gamer, her gamerscore's about 22k (compared to my 3.5k) and she posesses an in-depth knowledge of Gears & Gears 2 that frankly scares me. The chat-up line she used was "You should come over to mine and we can co-op through Gears 2 together...". How could anyone resist that?
I'm not married but I've been with my girlfriend for the last 11 months, and the way things are going I don't think it will be too long before we tie the knot Just waiting till we can afford a place to live- she's a web administrator at a local web design company
Stop calling Ben gay, you fags. He's homosexual. That's what you call the masculine one. Ben's no sissy.
As for marriage I think I'm in the clear. I've been playing with boobs so long it's lost its obsessive, desperate appeal, which means women don't have the power to seduce me into marriage anymore.
oh, someone believed that joke thread about me being a girl. so THAT is why I've been receiving all those sexy private messages... I thought it was party time
Been married for 7.5 years now. Doesn't seem nearly that long, though.
She plays some games, and can be hardcore at times.
She plays a tank, while I heal her up. She likes American McGee's Alice & Animal Crossing.
She used to work at a housing supply company in their accounting dept. So, since housing in general went into the pooper, she has been working here at Mythic in CS. So I get to hear tons of hillarious stories about people who think the world should be served up to them on a silver plate (game worlds, too).
So I guess as long as she still works here, I will too.
I cook, she bakes. Works well, so far. There has been a lot more baby talk, as of late. Guess it's gonna happen sooner than later. Maybe I'll just buy a cat. That'll give me more time, right? ;D
That sounds like a recipe for some hate sex! I'm picturing lap-tables with mouse pads, rubber sheets, bottles of olive oil, quad boxing a full WoW raid, and stained copies of the Kamasutra in 10 different languages scattered around.
Grats!
The hubby and I will be celebrating our 5th anniversary on the 5th of September, been together for 8. Oh and just to clarify, I'm a girl, not gay. XD
We have side-by-side PC's to play games together and a living room configured for ideal 360 and horror movie viewing. He digs games and he puts up with all my shit, it's good times.
He's getting ready to go to school for programming as a second career.
I've been married a year since June Jamie doesn't play many games, but she'll play Mario, Guitar Hero, etc. What I really like about her is that she's super caring and giving, and she's very artistic and inspiring for me My desk is covered with sculpey models she's made for me
10 years married on Oct23rd this year, which will also be 11 years to the day from when Kirsten discovered me on ICQ through a random chat partner search. Her nickname was Veggie, when I suggested she was either a lesbian or not a real vegetarian she didn't run away in disgust, so I figured maybe she'd be durable enough to put up with me!
We've 2 girls now, Nikitta is 6 and Nuala is turning 1 in september so she's the same age now as Nikitta was when we moved here and it so feels like I've come full circle this year.
I periodically try to get Kirsten more into games, had some success with Wipeout HD and Flower on PS3 and Resident Evil 5 on 360. Though I have to say that I thought getting her as my partner in RE5 would help cut down on the retardation of the other character's 'help'
Joking aside, I haven't quite gotten her fully into games yet but I am persistent and patient ( ie a pain in the arse ) and my latest tactic is ' you do realize in a couple more years I'll be sitting playing games with both our wee girls and you'll feel left out?'... which I think might do the trick.
Also, Nikitta can beat her arse good already on WipeoutHD, 1 try and she was better so... it's only a matter of time!
She loves seeing what I build at work though, she still remembers me bluffing Scion that I could model in order to get the job, before desperatly trying to build a character in 3d for an art test heh
And she reminds me of that , and that I should be proud of myself.
Anyway, good to see you are able to be more open about who you are now, these things are important and it's emotionally destructive to try and withold them.
Me and my husband have been married just over a year now, we are both character artists We play video games together, and model characters together. It's great!
Im very single and really can't be too arsed with the female life form as of yet, plenty of time for that! haven't got a stable income/job and ive heard they can be quite expensive...also i live in a village in the middle of no where and a fine lady is hard to come by.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. I love your wife too. Send her over to me for a while, we'll both gain like 20 kg from all the cooking.

Lies. Girls don't post on Polycount.
You're one lucky lad!
Now that I know you're gay, I'm disillusioned and confused. My worldview is shattered, and I cry a lot.
No kids of our own, but we are the guardians of my wife's 12 year old niece which has been a great adventure so far.
3 cats, 2 Persians and one munchkin (he's so funny looking)
- BoBo
Kid on the way.
1 dog (Burke)
2 cats (Bunnie, Minnie)

Congrats on the wedding man. I hope that you are/have been/will be happy with him.
I am single. I don't cry myself to sleep.. But sometimes (apparently?) i cry DURING my sleep..
this is why I'm not married.
seems all my friends these days all either have kids or are married. I tend to hang out with folks older than meself though.
She's very supportive of my career, thankfully. She's a hardcore Gran Turismo fan which is the perfect excuse to buy a PS3 now.
