Ugh.

Only beef I have with Scouts, is every once in a while, you'll be in a room with a scout that just completely destroys everyone with insane skill, timing, and health pack camping.

Only thing that ever seems to beat them are fully upgraded turrets.

:S

I just hate to see how much more ridiculous those players become with this upgrade.

Soldier Achievements pleeeeasseeee

He used to dominate in qwtf now he sucks major balls. Especially when compared to the demo who can fire 12 shots without reloading.

Might need to simultaneously upgrade the engineer, soldier, and demoman though.

I can't wait for soldiers update, I'm able to bounce around everything in sight. but he is not as mobile as qwtf soldier class.( I don't expect them to change that, I'm content with the soldier)
Mind you qwtf was dominated by soldiers and snipers.

Oh man. With TF2, they are so doing it right. I don't even play the game. I've never played the game, I don't plan on playing the game, but even I look forward to updates with glee! Even the stuff that's about the game without being in the game is so ridiculously awesome!

does anyone else think the Force-a-Nature is a useless piece of shit? You'd think for a gun that has less ammo it would do MORE damage!? But no, it does LESS! I cant count today how many times ive been point blank in front of or behind an enemy and I didnt kill themARGHH!H!H!!GF!G!G!@!$!@%!

hm..the upate notes made it sound like force-a-nature was supposed to be more a defense type weapon rather than a damage one. A knockback weapon could do wonders against ubercharges, or against foes near cliffs, or heck, maybe it could even make your double jump extend into a quasi-triple jump.

on second thought I'd just like to add, while its all fine n dandy that you can triple jump with the FaN whats the point really?! You can reach new heights and new places but so what? Its not like you can effectively take out enemies from a distance, just possibly escape after a weak hit n run....WEAK I SAY!

His long range attack is sandman+team or any of his other weapons.

Definitely.... trip jump gives tons of early scoring advantages as well as it looks like there's a ton of shortcuts that could be exploited with this.

I do play other classes. I play demo mostly and spy second...only been playing scout for the achievements. Its an ok class, only really good for capping points quickly imo. THATS IT. and his long range attack is sandman? are u fucking kidding me? You stun the guy and chances are by the time u run over to him the stun will have worn off. And if ur lucky enough to get to him before it wears off, unless you got the scatter gun, theres little chance you're killing him with the FaN. Its a frustrating, shitty class....when I got the achievments Ill be happy to go back to demo and spy and never look back

Why even play Scout if you don't like him, just for achievements?

Scout is good for capping points, but he is also a great distraction. Most players will frantically try to kill him as he hops around, not noticing the rest of the enemy team approaching. That's what I do with him anyways, and that's why I wish they came out with a bat or scatter gun replacement that got crits when fried from above on the head of enemies. Double Jump and misdirection are my fav.

I'm not a huge fan of the new weapons for scout, but scout is a pretty unbeatable class when sentries aren't involved. A scout can take any class 1v1, and escape easily if the odds are worse. At least when it's me playing...

The scout is a short ranged class, do you expect him to have some sort of rifle. Scouts are lucky they can stun the enemy across the battlefield. I don't play scout often, but every class requires you to adapt, it is evident you have not for the scout.

If anything I'd go out on a limb and say he's over powered now ( I can't tell being that most teams consist of 8+ scouts)

This update came at JUST the right time. After years of TFC and TF2 I finally got the hang of the scout's style of play recently. I used to play mainly soldier (since it was the most Quake3-like and felt natural), with a bit of HWGuy as well. The pyro update got me trying the pyro out, and now he's my favorite class. The medic update got me playing a medic from time to time and actually enjoying myself.

I love valve.
