But I must say DC's Characters are not really suited to a fighting game. I'll tell you right now that Superman, The Flash and Green Lantern Will be the Cheapest Characters of all Time!...
... and Aquaman the most useless.

also on a side note it always bugged me how everthing is spelled with a "K". The "Kombat" is enough. But "Koming Soon" is a bit much. Kind of like how Porn Sites can't spell coming.

I'm pretty stoked to be working on this. I'm a huge Batman and Superman fan and played MK1 and MK2 growing up. There are quite a few changes but I think some of them are needed. Should be really cool.

I think the main reason for this combo is to get some well over due gore into the DC franchise.
Have you not read hawken? no fatalities and only a little blood. i'm not seeing this gore you talk about.
Also maybe I am crazy but I swear there was a DC fighting game way back when on the snes or something.
The MK Franchise hasn't been on my radar since 1996, but the teaser looked interesting. And yea, Batman's got a lot of jaw going there.

but.....Midway has killed the MK franchise completely now. Gone are the MK2 days or even MK Deception. There had better be fatalities! not sure how Subzero could rip off superman's head though

I mean yeah it's something no one would have ever thought of. It is a huge risk. People always complain studios don't take new risks. Well we are and I think it's a good thing. It may totally revamp the franchise into something that is much better and really needed.

Im not really sure it has so much to do with taking risks as trying to salvage a dying franchise. Mortal Kombat part 1-3 were really defined fighting games, with its own story arch and characters, and unique fighting system. Than they started adding puzzle kombat or whatever, and like 1 fatality per character, and a really loose combat system, which made things worst.
I really feel like the creators have lost the concept of what made these games successfull. A MK vs DC to me, does nothing to make up for that. Atleast the new Street fighter 4 is going back to the roots of the original and it looks great, a shame MK doesnt do the same.

I'm diggin the combination, but its all about the end result! At the end of the day, if I can freeze Robin and then rip his heart out on some fatality then bring it on!

Maybe he ties the guy up in some circus ropes and then hangs him in the middle of the arena hah, seems lame. Either way, theres a lot of people from the DC universe I want to fatality via the bad-asses from the Kombat world.
Capcom vs marvel got nothing on this.
My guess is DC wouldnt have it, "superman getting his head ripped off, never!!!"...Oh the weakness.

If there are no fatalities though, I'll pass on it. That's what made Mortal Kombat. I can understand Marvel not wanting the gore and all, but that takes away much of the appeal for me. Bah!

Sure that was a huge part of MK in the past and this is a radical change but maybe this is what is needed. Trying to establish a new fan base. Younger. It is a lot easier to get parents to buy a T rated game then M and I think that has a huge part to do with it.
I don't know I don't get involved in the politics or chest bumping over this shit at work.
I just make the art that I'm told to and try to make it look the best it can. Hopefully it works out that way in the end.
