They just began contruction on the largest group of palm islands. That's a lot of artificial islands. This is all just insane.

2) Man made islands have a tendancy to keep sinking into the sea as the soil continues to compact and or erode away.
Once you build on the island its kind of hard to put more dirt under the building.

Well I'm sure the scientists working for those putting money into this $1.8 billion project have thought of that, and maybe even come up with a workaround.

One would think so, but that isn't the case. At least not during their first project. I think someone already mentioned the Palm islands they made. The current didn't flow as expected though and they had some real erosion issues. Supposedly they fixed it, and then started this project. Only time will really tell if they did this right
