[Project] RIB Boat Grand 850 — Hard Surface / Vehicle Art

Hello everyone, I’d like to share my first independent project: a detailed 3D model of the Grand 850 rigid-inflatable boat (RIB). Since I am still a beginner in 3D modeling, this was a massive learning experience for me. My primary objective for this project was to achieve accurate hard-surface geometry representation, clean topology, and understand the workflow for marine vehicles. Technical Specifications: • Modeling Workflow: Sub-D Modeling / High-Poly • Geometry: Clean quad-dominant topology • Software Used: Blender (100% modeled and rendered) As a beginner, I am highly looking forward to your Critique & Comments (C&C). I would especially appreciate feedback on the overall geometric accuracy, hull lines development, topology flow, and edge width consistency. Thanks for watching!

    This looks very nice indeed!

The biggest thing I see is there's no motor on the rear end?

It might also help to integrate it into a photographed scene, you could potentially use one of the free HDRIs from Polyhaven.com, and learn a bit about compositing. The HDRI would also function to give the materials some nice lighting to work with.

For judging proportions, do you have some reference blueprints or isometric-ish photos to share?

Thank you for the feedback! To answer your questions: 1. Yes, I am definitely planning to model an outboard motor for the rear end. Right now, I am in the process of gathering proper reference blueprints, photos, and technical data to get it started. 2. For the Grand 850 itself, I used official layout schemes and dimension guides from the manufacturer's website, along with a massive library of reference photos to ensure the accuracy of the hull and details. I am attaching some of the reference schemes and images I used for judging the proportion
