Hello, I am currently searching for an artschool to improve my 2D Concepting/Illustration Skills or my 3D modeling and sculpting skills or both. I've come across 3DSense and it looks quite promising, but I wonder is the cost and effort of migration really worth it? I've been comparing many schools with different online resources to see if they fit my personal needs and this one seems the most convincing so far and as far as I can tell at the moment seems to only require the actual course material and no additional fluff classes or credit hours correct me if I'm wrong. For international students could you explain some unique concerns you may face with getting student visa and other things around your stay in Singapore as a student?
For Online students could you explain how much did it cost you to take the online courses, the website says a rebate of 1,500$ but I'm still trying to confirm if that means 1,500$ flat to participate in the courses. Do you find the online classes to be very engaging with alot of opportunities to engage with mentors and feel connected to the course? What classes did you take and how did you find them to be in terms of curriculum depth, especially the 3D Game Art course and 2D Concepting and Design/illustration course Any and all feedback and honest review is appreciated thanks.

Hey there, I'm starting my online Illustration course at 3dsense on March 25th. I could reply to you again once I've started the course.
The rebate was, as stated, 1,500 SGD and you pay in 2 installments. If you have any questions regarding the application process, feel free to ask.
I'm a little uncertain about the meaning of the term "Rebate" does that mean as on online student you only pay 1,500$ ?
or do you pay the full tuition of 30,000 SGD or so and get a kick back of 1,500$ afterwards?
AH no. I wish :D. They reduced the price by 1.500 SGD in total. The price right now is 41,448.75 SGD so with a rebate it's 39.948,75 SGD which you pay in 2 installments. So 19.974,38 SGD each, converted to your local currency.
There was another segment on the application page that requested a Passport number, is there a way around that for the online course specifically? It's not something I have at the moment. Would also be interesting to check in on how your course is going a bit at a later date.
Unfortunately you need a Passport number since they need something which is internationally valid. An ID is not sufficient. :(
I'll let you know once the course has started. I'm really curious myself tbh since i haven't found anyone yet who did the course online.
bump, Sorry noticed I got a notification but maybe the site bugged out it isn't here anymore. Unless there was an edit in which case misunderstanding.
I think it was an edit i'm not sure anymore :)
gotcha. well I have some things to work on then.
How did day 1 go?
Hey there, it's starting next week on March 25th. I'll get back to you then :)
2 days or so in, how's it going? I forgot to ask if it was the onsite version or online version of the course you're taking.
Hey there. :) Yes the course started on Friday so it was a lot to take in.
I'm doing the Concept Art & Illustration course fully online. So far, we learned a bit anout rendering and light and shadow and got a few asssignments. It's a lot of fun and the people are amazing. We have a class Discord group so i don't even feel left out because I still get to chat and talk to te on campus people during zoom classes and over on Discord.
So right now there's not much to say, but everything is going smoothly so far. The school provides you with all the software, you just need to buy a Wacom Tablet (Intuos M).
If you have any further questions, feel free to aks. :)
What is the social aspect like between intstructor, mentor, peers?
The rendering light and shadow content how are they approaching breaking it down to you does it feel like the concepts land
or is it alot of info that isn't immediately clear? Is the discord a private thing for the school or is there a dedicated 3DSense discord?
So the only social aspect would be chatting and talking with the other students on discord and during classes. Depending on the people you could organize game nights etc. like my class did but it always depends on the people i guess.
As for the first module it was quite informative but we're still at the beginning. If you want you can check out my insta I'll be documenting my art journey and post assignments and stuff (beware I'm a super beginner so my feed is not nice :D - @artofceli)
If you have questions during the lessons you can always ask the teacher and share your screen, they can also take over your screen and draw over your images.
The discord is private unfortunately.
I'll probaly peep the insta a few times I'll probably ask more questions after more time has passed or for updates if that's cool.
Yes It's fine you can also DM me anytime if you have questions.
DM via Insta? weird thing is when i googled the @ it didnt land me directly on insta, some other weird inbetween acount that showed posts from insta.
Maybe i direct link would be better.
Oh yeah sure sorry :) https://www.instagram.com/artofceli/
