Blender - Need help to understand alpha brushes and texture stretching

Hi all,

I set up this mesh and applied Subdivision Surface to it about 4-6 times so I could use Multires modifier combined with cloth folds as an alpha texture brush which all worked well. However, the textures I have on it (applied in Substance Painter using the triplanar method before importing back into Blender to use the alpha brushes) look a little stretched in the alpha folds in the chest. Is there any reason for this or a workaround? Is it simply a UV issue (I used Smart UV Project which could be the issue)?

If you're doing the UVs with the multires modifier not applied it will cause the UVs to get distorted after sculpting. I think you'd have to apply the modifier and after that do the UVs. Not sure if there is another way of doing that. Maybe someone else can enlighten us.

Hey I think that's a helpful answer. I think this is something I need to keep in the back of my head as I continue modeling. Thanks a lot!
