Hi guys! Just wanted to make a reproduction of a shield I saw on Diablo Reaper of Souls

Handpainted texture is something new and challenging for me so I try to do my best!

The colormap is done at 70%.

Looks gorgeous man, I love the detail. You've really got a handle on stylized sculpting! My only critique would be to maybe make the symbols on the bottom a bit bigger so they can read at a farther distance. Same with the cracks on the shoulder pads. Also, maybe remove some of the small folds in the neck area so that it would contrast with the face a bit more to make it pop.

Thanks for critique man. I agree the runes don't read from a far distance on the sculpt. I think the baking somehow fixed that and I also painted them glowing green ^^ Same with the shoulderpads cracks. Here's the final version: https://polycount.com/discussion/comment/2669904#Comment_2669904

Hey! This looks awesome.

I would love to see a bit of a value gradient on this character. The brightness is the same all over, which makes it read a bit too "busy". Some great guidelines here for color and value https://support.steampowered.com/kb/9334-YDXV-8590/dota-2-workshop-character-art-guide

You might be done for the competition, but for portfolio use it could really be worth the extra love.

I applied a top down gradient as you suggested, with slight touches of highlight though.

Hello there! My low poly and uvs are entirely done now. I had the pleasure to try out RizomUV and I can't recommand it enough. It's extremely powerful, quick and precise. Next step: baking.

Hi guys, texturing update here. I just dropped some material on the skaven and played with some parameters. I worked more on the book and the staff but they are not done yet. I try to avoid over detailing cause I want to keep it stylized.

I don't know if this dude will be able to cast magical power with vfx and what not. Cause maybe most of his spell come from his book with this design. But I would love to have smoke on his censer

I'm planning to make it handpainted pbr. I picked this concept because of course, I like it's style, but I also like how sci fi and fantasy blend together with these aliens. I am currently working on the blockout.

Hello, guys. I've been terrible posting here since I had to move to another country for a new job. I almost haven't worked on this guy cause I don't have any proper desk setup atm. Anyway, the blocking is done and I'm cleaning the hardsurface concept sculpt parts. I find the new zmodeler's extrude edge feature really useful for this.
