Traditional Japanese Sword aka Katana.
Game ready mesh, modeled base/lowpoly in 3ds Max, highpoly/sculpt in Zbrush, baking in Marmoset Toolbag and texturing in Substance Painter.
Heavily inspired to make this sword after watching Ghost of Tsushima trailers.
Emphasize has been put towards the Snake God which can be seen in Tsuba, Kashira, Menuki etc.
In Japanese culture, snakes have traditionally been revered as a god, a messenger of a god, or a creature that brings a divine curse when a snake is harmed or a particular natural site is disturbed.
While collecting references for this sword, I got to know the different parts that are used to make a Katana. Each and every part, however small it is, has it's role from balancing the sword to making an impact while attacking or defensing.
Hope you enjoy it. :)
