@andrew_spencer I realise 'lowpoly' these days refers mostly to a particular art style, but this thread's about making the most of low polycounts. Given that your eyes have more polygons than the entire first 10 pages of this thread put together, I'm going to go ahead and say it doesn't fit
Learning how ShaderLab works in Unity. Scene affected by one directional light (rotating for more dramatical effect). Character model 948 tris, shashka 76 tris.
tris: 553 colors: 12 might update this one. few mistakes, the chassis is pretty busy.
I think you could lower the triangle count some more. Regardless, it's a really awesome piece. If you don't mind me asking, how does the actual texture look?
tris: 478, 482, 488, 484 colors: 10, 10, 12, 11 now i'm thinking the textures contrast can be upped on these guys, and the squirrel has an update so i'm re-rendering that out.
@MrQuetch thanks man. yeah, you can always go old school, scrub out polygons and let textures do the heavy lifting, and they are already doing that there. might update that but it is good enough. the Viper texture has been linked in the original post

The highest-poly is the fox in the middle, with 1700 tris (not counting the outline mesh, which doubles it I guess). I was more interested in animating them than being efficient.
The character designs are not mine, they're from a TV show.

I'm gonna go back and rework the rocket dude. Not feeling that one. But if anyone has critique for it let it fly.
