Toon Shader: Is there a way to control the area/shape of Rim light?

Hi guys!

I am wondering if there's way to limit the area of the rim light in arnold toon shader. I tried to appoint a light source to the rim light but it doesn't seems to effect anything. I would like to get rid of the rim light in the mouth and under the nose. Is there a way I can limit the area where the Rim light can go?


My final goal is to make my rim light look like this. Though I am not sure how they did it.
