[Finished] Crossbow

Hello people!!!

I am trying to increase variety in my portfolio (https://www.artstation.com/marcoantoniomeirelescarvalho) and so I have decided to create a crossbow. Here I am going to show my progress with it. I am open to critics and any comment.

So... I have drawn a quick sketch for my crossbow (I am not a concept artist but I want to increase my art style):

Today I have made a basic High poly model inside 3dsmax. Now I will export it to zbrush to refine details.

thanks Ashervisalis! I have just started. I decided to make a project like this to see where I could get with zbrush. I lot of work is needed but it will look good at the end.

New Update people! I am working on some carvings. This is the first time I do something like this inside zbrush (something this complex) but I am happy with the result and I am learning a lot of things! Please, tell me what you think. Any feedback is appreciated.

Are you following any reference for those or just go freestyle? is it a combination of dam standard and trim dynamic?

Thanks Lokthar! I used DamStandard and ClayBuild for the carvings (for which I used both reference and freestyle). Then I used Trim brushes to give a more "wood carved" appearance.

At the beginning I wanted to include a head at the end of the crossbow, but it did not fit with the floral ornaments so I have decided to change the design. Furthermore, some elements didn't make sense in terms of functionality, so I made some more changes.

Well... I changed the design (again) but now I am almost happy with the result. There are still some design problems but I can´t solve them at this stage.

I have just finished the low poly and made the bakes. I still have to texture it inside substancePainter but I have already set the material setup.
