I want to give this a shot and create some awesome effects for the game! I'm working on Anivia's [Q] Flash Frost and Brand's ultimate Pyroclasm.
This is my current progress. I'm using After Effects with various plugins (Videocopilot Element, Optical Flares, Trapcode Particular) to make the effects.
These are the initial versions, although they're missing wind-up and impact animations. Having played this game for years, I want to give some of the old school characters some love, but also stay true to the original animations.
The satisfaction that comes with landing these successfully, even though the other team is most likely trying to kill you quickly, is what is driving me to work on these spells.

Slowly starting to come together, added a small upward curve in the motion path, to emphasize that it will bounce between targets.
Will try to make an example of how it jumps from target to target soon. Here's another update until then, with added impact.
Another update on the Pyroclasm, added a little cartoony ground texture and changed the trajectory slightly. Going back to the Flash Frost for the time being.
Here's an update on the Flash Frost, I'm not a 100% happy with it just yet, will need to go through a few more iterations.
Here's an example of the Pyroclasm doing its thing. Almost done with it, now onto fixing the Flash Frost.
Will upload a summary of the workflow in After Effects soon as well.
An update to the Flash Frost, no more wave behind it leaving a trail and the new floor animation is meant to visualize the radius of the stun. Working on a proper wind-up.
