3ds Max 2014 looks to be a very solid release. It focused on improving existing features. And there is on option to disable Caddies!

Doesn't look too exciting, I'm just curious what the DX11 shaders actually mean or do; there's a lot of ifs before I see it as really useful.
Also is there a list of bugfixes somewhere? I couldn't find it. I'm curious about some particularly nasty ones from Max 2013...

not that the new origami icons help with telling the apps apart. And I thought the old green rectangle icon with the white stuff inside was annoying when I launched the wrong app yet again. Get a clue from Adobe, and use some colors....

Same, I'd be very keen on this version (even with the small amount of new features) if it was actually stable and didn't feel as bloated as 2013 (because seriously, 2 minutes to open the render to texture dialouge?).

Xoliul, not sure if this is the type of thing you were looking for.

new support for DX 11 shaders in 3ds Max 2014. In addition, a new API exposes DirectX 11 capabilities in 3ds Max with HLSL (High Level Shading Language) support.

BTW, I think my favorite new feature is the search box. I use it ALL the time in Blender. I hope it searches for modifiers.
