Hey all!

Thought I'd start a thread where I can display my work and get feedback off you amazing polycounters! Crit and Comments would be great!

I've only just switched to MAX today so thought I'd test some off my modelling skills I acquired from Maya

So far, so good! For baking out high res-textures for low resolution meshes this TV (or Radio, if I'm not mistaken). I see your Maya skills have transferred very well into 3Ds Max. Maybe some wire-frame renders for the thread...:D

Sweet! Are you gonna bake that down?

I'm thinking of switching from Maya to Max as well,do you have any tips for a fellow polycounter? Thanks!

GabeLamas - Yea it will be baked down (the TV) in the coming days if I get over this flu... here are the wires.

Pumpkin - Yea I am. I had to use Maya for University but now I'm finished I'm going back to MAX as it is far easier to work with (in my opinion). All I can say is practice, practice, practice. I know it's lame but thats the only way you'll improve and by communicating with people on forums too. Hope that helped

Just a few tweaks and details added to the model, now going to bake down and texture

Baked the model down. Polycount is 2488 Tris using 2K textures. Now onto texturing

AO and Normals maps.

Sorry for the slow update, just got back off holiday.

Here's the final render of the blow torch. I'm aware there are a few faults here and there but any crit or comments would be great

Oooh, nice resolution on the render. The dirt and debris on the blowtorch brings out the unevenness as if it's been used a lot. Nice work!

Same goes for the TV, nice resolution and detail.

good stuff, i got one crit for blow torch though.

that thin pipe looks like it's made of plastic, unlike actual thing:

metal parts seem to be too bright and too desaturated on diffuse map.
