[DS2] Hammer, Pixeldemon

Hello everyone! This is my first time posting and participating on Polycount, so if I'm doing something silly, please let me know. I've long admired the work displayed here, and its great to join this awesome community!

Here is an initial 3d concept for a Demonic Hammer. Sorry for no traditional 2D concept, I tend to scratch out a bunch of scribbly thumbnails and then dive in.

The end result should be a skinny/boney demon substance clutching a stone hammerhead.

Any comments are greatly appreciated!

Hey, not a bad design. You fit perfectly within the proxy, but I think you could bulk up the forms a bit, sort of fill out the proxy more. Even though you are perfectly within it, your weapon looks smaller than the majority of the others because the forms are sort of thin. Beef it up a bit!

Good work so far! Keep an eye towards the future and your 1500 triangle budget. A lot of the silhouette on the grip is pretty poly intensive.

@SgtNasty: Indeed, good criticism. I will look into ways of bulking it up.

@dproeder: Yeah, the tri budget is going to be close. I will certainly need to smooth and flatten out the handle.

Low Poly:

I definitely got a little carried away on the organic details during the high poly sculpt. Final version will be more streamlined. Lesson learned: building the base mesh first helps keep form and details manageable.
