Hi guys!
Just decided to dedicated more time to polish my modeling skill, been really lazy lately..
So.. i've never modeled a tank before, Stormsword is a tank from Warhammer40k, altough i'm not too familiar with w40k universe, i think i try to model it since it looks cool
Now for the reference :
And for today progress :
Not optimized yet, also, i'm really unsure at the tank tread. I,m aiming at around 15k-20k tris btw.
Feedback are really aprreciated. Thx!

ngons will be a problem in most game engines.
Other then that it looks pretty solid so far.
Ngons shouldn't be a problem as long as that part of the model is stationary.
Looking great, binopittan! Is this recent surge of tanks due to the release of 3D Motive's newest tutorial on hard surface vehicles? xD
Dimfist : Those "lowpoly" just only for blockout phase, final model will ngon free Perhaps for final presentation i'm gonna use Marmoset
Nordahl154 : Nah~ i don't even aware of 3dmotive tutorial, i just thought it will be nice to add a piece of hipoly tank to my portfolio ( like Mr.Pepera have in his ) but then i change my mind and try to do a next gen low poly tank instead. Thx for the encouragement btw!
Progress.. any feedback are really appreciated.
Dan! : Yes i,m gonna texture it, and considering to animate it too. I'm kinda trying to figure out how to rig the tracks so when the tank moves forward, it follows.
But it still a long way to go.
A little more progress on rear side
Quickie on LP. Not really satisfied with the result ( aka need moar geo )
Illusive :
keep it up
Blue anyone?
Been staring my monitor too long. I decide to take a break and post this
Not sure that it's a better idea to make the color lighter and more saturated.
Here is Marmoset shot.
Don't understand why the black line.. it's not there when rendered with 3dmax Scanline.. lame..
scanline is more accurate but for the engine u should make the texture over extend from the uv shell seems.
but ace stuff anyway
Looks super clean and nice! About the black line, marmoset is using Mayas normal settings as default. So you need to flip the green channel. Either in PS or in Marmoset it self..
It works! thx!
Thx everyone for stopping by.. here have some updates. not much actually.. just wanna show that Marmoset now render correctly
I just saved this image on my pc
Congrats
More updates.
Yea man, now after looking at it again it looks very odd/unrealistic.
Knowing nothing about tanks , i'm not sure wth that cylinder supposed to mean?
I consider to revisit my high poly after gather some reference
Yes please.
