Hi, i've started working on a next-gen character to start creating a decent portfolio, i'm pretty much done with the high-res model, but i can always use some C&C if you wanna give it to make it better.

the idea is a present day "wizard" with mental powers instead of elemental powers.

hair is just a sphere that i used snakehook on with one of the standard scattered ball aplha's in zbrush

ok, made the lowpoly mesh and baked the normals today, now all i need to do is add textures and some convincing low-poly hair (and a rig)

update, started on texturing, the hair is just a temporary model i'm going to replace with planes

i did say i was going to do the hair after that

anyway, update, might do something on the gem still, but apart from that all i'm going to do is rigging.

I think you could use some extra geometry on his vest lapels and pocket. They aren't getting enough thickness and dimension off the normal map alone.

Your textures looks a little over-saturated and it's hurting the realism of the model. Work more on defining material types in your texture. Use your spec map to break things up and add detail. For instance, the gloves don't read as leather currently, but plastic.
