A community made Minecraft skin pack? 'The Polycount 100'?

So I am thinking about doing a small project with you guys where we create and package 100 recognizable characters in a single package for the Minecraft community.
It would consist of recognizable people or characters from all walks of pop culture. I'd like to know a few things first, though:
How long does the average decent skin take to make? I'm looking at the folks here to help answer this. If you've made and posted skins here already, they can be included in the pack.
Can we get enough interest in this from Polycount to knock out 100 of these before other more popular contests begin?

The most important thing if this does end up happening though is having an organized list of what skins are being made currently. Otherwise I can see a lot of duplicates being made.
Example list:
-Wolverine, yellow spandex
-Sad Keanu Reeves
-Peter Molyneux
-Night Elf
For me to make a nice one with shading and whatnot it's like an hour, on average. Most of the ones I made took around an hour.
I already made both members of Daft Punk. Not good enough? Are we not using ones that we already made?

I'm thinking this way a bit too, thousands of guys has done a thousand famous skins already, since it's so easy to create everyones favorite characters, so chances are this pack might become full of stuff that everyone has already.
I can however definately see this being a pack with people just being creative, a mix, as long as the quality is high.
I suppose you could do their tron versions or some alternate costumes, the clothes on mine suck, it was the first skin I made.

Agreed, I think every one I've done is a better quality duplicate.
Some people might not want to though, just posting the link so they have the option of checking.
Exactly, I'm sure the polycount pack for tf2 created quite some good traffic and face for polycount.
Can we suggest ideas for the list?
I think ones that people have already made (i.e. Tron, Daft punk, Hulk Hogan) should be extra the the 100 as well. We can easily do more than 100 i'd say. I'd do at least 10 myself.

But seriously, I'm with Adam. He wants to create a specific pack of recognizable characters and that's what the skin pack will be. There's nothing stopping you from making your own skins of obscure freeform creations, it just won't make the cut for the skin pack.

This one's a take on Bunker (bobo's SDK), so "pop-culture" would be arguable.
