Was pretty fancy seeing Thousand Needles and such with cinematic aesthetics. Sadly I don't think I'm going to be getting this on release anymore because WoW is just too much of a time drain.
God fuckin dammit. Blizzard is in a league of their own. Stellar cinematic. That said I'd love to see more heroes like in the other trailers. At least the new races.
I've been feeling the cata-hype quite a bit but my will to resist is currently stronger.
It's been such a pleasure to be a small nerd growing up with their games and still see them knock out top quality stuff. I rank Diablo as one of my biggest fav's of all time
Used to play warcraft 2 with my grandfather in multiplayer aswell hehe
I was kind of hoping to see more of the new races in the cinematic, but this is cool. The bit at the end with Stormwind actually explains some of the damage shown in game. (in the beta)
I actually haven't played WoW in years, doubt I'll be coming back to it too. But yeah, that really was a cool trailer. So awesome seeing those zones in cinematic quality.
MMO I'm most waiting for now is the Warhammer 40k one.

I would have liked some of the area shots to be of the new race zones but regardless the thing is bad ass. I do like the way the cinematics are becoming more story oriented rather than, "hey here's a bunch of shit thrown together."
They don't really have anything else major going on. Last year was starcraft 2 and wow cataclysm announcement. This year will probably be diablo 3 and the announcement of the new project.
Looking at the program it does feel wow and sc2 heavy. humm.
I can only imagine how awful it must be to spend months crafting high detail caverns, cities and a dragon, only to support such lines as "Roar, I'm angry, nations will quake, roar etc.!"
Hmm, now that i've watched it multiple times, I think Deathwing (the dragon) looks kinda...well, not as impressive as most of the concept art drawn of him. (check out the cataclysm box art for a really great depiction)

Maybe it's just the lighting or maybe the resolution but that jaw looks kinda lame, and the material on him goes from flat to sudden 'chrome' like metal for the chin and the plates on the horns.
Well, still cool. I agree with Zwebbie though, it could have done with way better narration. The wotlk cinematic narration was absolutely fucking brilliant.
Pretty sweet cinematic, Wraths was better imo. Looking forward to seeing what they do with all the old zones and the like. Started playing 4 months ago, it's kind of fun :P
"Death is final, death is eternal, death is my realm"
...What?
That audio was very entertaining. My favorite was "Now witness my new gifts bestowed by this world's true masters!". It sounds hilarious when he says it.
And the metallic jaw reminds me of;
The cinematic however was as entertaining as always. It was great to see some familiar places from the game. Don't forget to set the quality to 720p btw!
i still think some of the best cinematics are the ones they did for warcraft3/tft, especially when arthas comes back to take the throne and murder his father
the dialogue/story in this one was kinda... meh :F superb visuals though, especially the waves
Reminds me of the one guy on the blender forums (who actually is a dragon trapped in a teenagers body), who didn't think the design on the sintel dragon was realistic for real dragons. :P
Point being, dragon's are what any given world makes them to be :P
I like this one even though it wasn't on the same level of the WOTLK or original cinematic, but the visuals were top notch as always.

thing is, most dragons in just about every lore that's out there have some form of sentience. hell, even in mythological terms they have intelligence and the ability to communicate, often being considdered deities in their own right.
not really, all dragons are magical creatures (speaking from a multi-lore point of view, not wow specific). and shapeshifting is one of the more simple magical spells, so for a being literally made of magic, it's not so hard a thing to imagine them capable of.
Really? I mean, if you haven't ever touched WoW or read anything about it or heard others talk about, I'd understand how "talkin dragnz" would ruin the entire game for you, seeing how it makes up such a huge part of the game. (it doesn't)
Also only the leader type dragons talk in WoW, as they were made by magic guys who could make anything with magic and wizards and magic. Also, Arthas Betrayal and Burning Crusade intro are awesome cinematics.
the hate makes me lulz, dragons shape shifting into human form and being able to talk is as old as the legends themselves. You could argue that Chinese dragons shape shift and talk while European dragons don't but then I'd be forced to call you a nerd and smack your lunch tray out of your hands.

He'd do it too! This one time at lunch he made a guy cry for looking at him the wrong way. Meisse is a bad bad man.

Felt sorry for the guy hammering away at 0:50
lol.

Awesome trailer though. I love Revelations 13.

You should hear the data mined audio from the beta, it's horrible:

All the dragon aspects in WoW have human forms. They can still talk in dragon form too.
Well.. that just ruined it for me.

It does seem like everytime arthas got cinematic space it got really awesome.

I don't mind talking dragons (the hobbit has one in it) but human forms? that's just silly.

And besides the whole deathwing&cars thing, an mmo expansion with several new themesongs and expanded soundtrack is instantbuy for me.

and the very cliche human form:
I don't know about dragons and cars, but how about...
i'm sorry but that looks bland as fuck... needs more contrast etc etc.
i love blizzards art (generally speaking) but good god they know how to be a let down when it comes to central characters/monsters.
