I'm thinking kind of like what Michael Bay done to Transformers?
Oh, I wouldn't go THAT far. This movie wasn't great, but it wasn't the same kind of train-wreck that the Transformers movies were. (especially the 2nd one) Probably the biggest problem I saw was that it lacked structure. The script almost seemed like a lot of it was being improvised by the actors. Action movies live or die on their pacing, you can't improvise them the same way you might do with a comedy or a drama.
