whats bad is they showed the north korea versus portugal game live. Worst time to show a game live
Pretty much knew the US would lose after they got scored on in under 5 minutes, again. You just don't get to make that many comebacks in the world cup, it's not that level of play.
The US is a good team, but they lack the mindset to be great. They have good defense, they just come onto the field unprepared and need either a goal or 30 minutes to get it going. You just can't do that.
England is more or less on the US' level this cup, in almost all respects except for one thing: they don't have the spirit the US team showed. If they get out of this hole against Germany I'll be very very surprised.

Statements like this always make me laugh. Video game artist from Bulgaria knows the mindset of US national soccer team, identifies athletes' failure to prepare! Maybe we can get Landon Donovan to register on PC to tell you what's wrong with your normal maps, he's quite the expert.

I am a US citizen and lived in California the majority of my life.
I have been a fan of the US soccer squad since '94.
I have the same right as ever other sports fan in the world to dissect and if necessary trash the performance of my team.
And for your information Landon Donovan makes beautiful normal maps.
I don't get why it is so difficult to get instant replays. Have 3 people sit in unconnected rooms watching the cameras, and have them tell the referee whether it was a goal or not.
Of course you can get corrupt viewers, but you might also have corrupt referees.
one of the best games so far, despite - or because of - england's defeat. there's really no telling how the game might have turned out had the equalizer been approved, altho germany was certainly the better team. ARG - GER in the QF! ARG - BRA in the final.
Never gonna happen, at least not with Blatter on the President seat. In all honesty I'm against technology in football so I agree with the points he makes.
There are a couple of European tournaments/leages that are going to be the testing ground for two new refs (One behind each net). I would rather see more refs then instant replay

They want the game to be able to create false decisions.
If you allow instant replays on everything you get a robot game with
a lot less of passion and emotion, i think they have a point there.
Of course it always sucks when your on the receiving end.
And yeah goal refs are a good adition.
Replays work perfectly in Rugby and the try decision is often harder to see. In football it would take a matter of seconds. People aren't asking for a replay for everything, but goal-line is so needed.
The only reason technology is not being used is money clear and simple.
Football is the most monetarily productive sport. The technologys cost would be nothing compared to all the money thats floating around within it. The sport relys on dodgy decisions, the FAs statement literally corroborates that.
Theres too much money flowing to many invested in the way things are, background deals etc. The sport is blatantly corrupt.
i agree that the ref SHOULD OF DEFINATELY CALLED THAT A GOAL, but germany still would of scored 2 more. Now you may think that the one goal could of changed the tide of the game, and it very well may have, but we will never know now.
Now on to the next game
GOOOOOOOOO ARGENTINA WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO

thought England vs Germany was pretty poor really, Germany played poor but our england team was just an utter shambles, even WITH the robbed goal I don't think it would have been any different. The Argy v mex match was allot better, tevez rocked.
Disco Stu, no, that was just terrible defence from England. He should have never even got a touch on that, it wasn't good play from the German side, it was just absolutely absymal play from the English
Granted the German side played better (obviously), Ozil and Schweinsteiger (and Lahm) were on good form for the most part, whereas Rooney seemed to give it straight back to Germany after any touches he got.
Also, Gerrard seemed frantic to try and take a shot whenever he got in range of the goal, so England missed several chances when he could have set up a player in a better position.
Lampard was just unlucky on 3 separate occasions... the first obviously being the goal that was disallowed, then he took some more free kicks which were so close to going in but just got nudged away with a lucky glove, or hit the crossbar. The match could easily have been 4-4 if the wind was blowing in the right direction (and the linesmen paying attention...).
Still, I think overall England deserved to go out after playing like that. It will be interesting to see how Germany do against Argentina, I have a feeling they will be beaten at that stage.

Almost 3 goals in the span of two minutes.

CBC fucking broke though, video doesn't work.
Wouldve been a different game if the ref would have eyes.
yeah stupid they still don't allow technical assistance in football.
