So, after rarely if not ever enjoying beer, I have come to really enjoy the stuff. I've been trying to get variety packs from different brewers, I'm drinking one from a Sam Adams winter variety pack right now, Cranberry Lambic(Damn tasty).
So, for you beer drinkers, what are some of your favorites?
I'm trying to stay away from the mass produced stuff, cause I've had a lot of it over the years and I don't like any of it I've tried. I'm cool with having to order it by phone or online or whatever, I'm just interested in trying a wide variety.

I usually like if beer is brewed with the basic ingredients. screw lemon beer and all this fancy stuff (yeah I know, get off my lawn! ). If I want lemon in my beer, I'd go for a good german wheat beer (weissbier). Very yummy and it's okay to put a slice of lemon in it. It's really refreshing that way in the summer.

I usually can't go wrong with an IPA, I enjoy hops. If i want something mellow I'll go with a Blue Moon, yeah, I know it's become a bit of commercial beer but it's tasty. If you want good beer look into local brews, I googled and there's a place called Max's Taphouse in Baltimore, you should have a go!
I also sampled a barley-wine at a Dogfish brewpub, it was so smooth and divine but I didn't order it because I knew I'd get trashed and sadly due to VA alcohol laws, they couldn't sell me a bottle. It's basically a beer brewed like a wine so it has really high levels of alcohol, but surprisingly, the one I sampled didn't have the hotness I'd expect.
Sam Adams is ok, it's a gateway beer away from Budweiser but if you venture into the world of beer snobbery eventually Sam Adams will taste like water to you.
I'm currently reading [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Microbrewed-Adventures-Lupulin-Filled-Journey/dp/0060758147/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1267063609&sr=1-3]Microbrewed Adventures[/ame], it's a travel around America and the world trying awesome homebrews.
also might I suggest getting into brewing your own? It's pretty fun and you end up with 5 gallons of beer.
AND
dont know if you can get those out of ontario though.
I usually get a few different varieties when i grab beer, i always try to get something i've not yet tried, I have a hard time understanding settling for the same brand night after night when there are so many choices nowadays
I'm brewing my own beer right now! Going to taste test it this Saturday actually to see if it's ready to be bottled / carbonated.
Cute beers you guys got up there but i bet it doesnt taste a bit like our beer ^^
Gives me a good buzz everytime

The one time I don't do a search about a topic before I post. Damn you Parnell. :P
Thanks dude, I'll check that out. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
Justin: I might have to get adventurous at some point and try some home brewing, I've had some really good home brewed stuff. Good lookin' out on that Taphouse too, I'm heading into Baltimore this weekend so I'll be sure to hit it up.
Blue Moon, poured into a pint glass, with an orange slice.
Guinness in a mug when I'm having a large plate of food at a pub.
Corona with lime if I'm eating Mexican food.
Yuengling if the above options aren't available.
+ 1
or sometimes the local atlanta beers, sweetwater and atlanta brewing co
Steamwhistle is a good pilsner, I toured the brewery while visiting Toronto. Newcastle. Harp.
Rickard's Red is what I drink most commonly as it is available pretty much everywhere here and still delicious.
Granville Island has some good beers, they're a local brewery here and it's usually cheaper in bars so that helps keeping me drinking it.
I've been drinking a lot of European beer lately that's good.
Kronenbourg: From France, it has a really nice "flowery" taste, pretty unique.
Budweiser Budvar (Czechvar): From the Czech Republic. The taste doesn't really stand out in my mind but it's good and I like that they had to rename it for North America. You can get it in big single bottles, which is fun.
Guiness: I always love me some Guiness as a change from the other lighter beers I usually drink.
Stella Artois: Some of my friends drink this so it's pretty nice for a change.
"Special"-er beers: Arrogant Bastard, La Fin Du Monde
far as lager goes, polish czech or german.
tyskie, zyviec
mmmmmm
It is perhaps on of the best beers out there.
Bringing up great memories of prague everytime i see that logo ^^
I really love all kinds of beer, but Stella is the one beer that makes me ask - why?! It doesn't have much taste to begin with, and in all the London clubs, it's chilled down to even remove the little taste it has (same goes for the Asahi, Corona and Bud you find in the same venues)....and then they charge you 4 pounds or worse... heck if you're from the US, just go for Bud. Same taste, lower price (maybe less "status" cuz it's not foreign?)
It's really just for people who don't like beer but enjoy peeing a lot... well maybe if you're desperate you can use it to stretch a real beer
and yeah, this is a rant. I guess I'm just bitter my brit workmates always chose some club or whatever with crappy beer selection over a real pub when heading out after work
Edit: here's some real beer to cheer you all up:
Thirdeded
That's the best root beer I've found.
Anchor Steam is great too!

I drink the shit out of this stuff.
Anything brewed out of Ommegang is good stuff.
Watch out though, it will put you on your ass if you are used to the weak-sauce.
oh, italian beer doesnt often get a mention, but:
and some Belgian wheat beer, this stuff is the shit
HA! after some googlin' i found the brand
cerveza caguama
this is good stuff
ladies.
I love my keiths, and keiths red. But im not overly picky.
You guys just named my 2 favorite beers on the planet. Kroenies, and Granville Island.
I do like Stella, and Dos Equis if it's really hot outside.
Not really an expert on brand names, but I love a lot of wheat beers.
Renaud took me out for some kind of Belgian Cranberry beer that basically tasted like juice.

LOL That's a grandfathers beer :poly124:
@Matabus - I seen Ommegang once that was brewed with Cocoa, is that worth a try? It was like $10 for a little bottle so I didn't wanna risk it haha
I've never had a beer that was flavoured, that sounds interesting... I will have to hunt around some local pubs lol.
"Newcastle" isn't a beer, its a town
And I don't trust anyone that thinks Kronenburg 1664 is acceptable, unless its the only beer you've ever tried.
So there
I recommend Fat Tire if it's in your area:
...of course I'm also the guy who shows up to parties with Colt45. So what do I know? :x
