Thanks to MW2, we've got a fuckton of games out next month, what are you planning on getting?
Going for Darksiders, Bayonetta and Mass Effect 2. Heard good things about Darksiders, Bayonetta demo was fun and the videos Bioware have been releasing for ME2 look great.
There's still Dark Void, Army of Two 2 and MAG and the crapload of games due in February too.

Same here. Can't wait for Dark Void, too - seems like forever since they released the initial game play teaser videos. Between those two, Bioshock 2 and the PC release of AC2, it doesn't bode well for my New Year's resolution of being more productive....
haha yea for us online shooter junkies, mag is quite interesting.
put it out of your mind for another year!

and apparently Bioshock 2 comes out in Feb, and GoW3 and FF13 in March!? It's one hell of a way to start a year! they're all GOTY contenders.
This.
And before you ask... I am 25.
And yes... a little ashamed.
I am actually very curious about Bayonetta!
The God Of War 3 demo honestly sucked, I'll pass on that one.
Oh and playing some StarCraft2 beta, too :P
This and Mag
and I would love to call in sick from work for a day or two when God of War 3 comes out
I've scoured all the game sites I can trying to find something that matches your description and I can't find it for the life of me. Are you sure you weren't high or mistaken for another game cause every trailer I've ever seen of that game is pure gold.
Or maybe it was removed?

No PC release..... damn it.
Saw the trailer on the website you talked about and I honestly dont see what the big deal is. War is a part of humanity and what they showed in that trailer is nothing less then what they show on your local news station. Its not like this is the first game to do something like this either.
From what I saw it showed some Tanks, more heavy armored vehicles, a couple of explosions, bombs being dropped from a B52, some militia soldiers firing an RPG and some assult rifles held in the air, boots marching and more expolisions.
If it showed things like people being killed/dead people I would think its in bad taste too but there was nothing shown that you cant see on TV/the internet or do in a game yourself.
And to answer the topic, there is literally no game I'm looking forward to in January 2010 I still have plenty of games to play from the steam sale hopefully starcraft 2 will be ready by the time I'm done with these games
I guess some shots more than others seem misplaced - the marching boots fit a little better than the Middle Eastern guy with the RPG, for instance. I personally don't find it offensive, but I can see pior's point - using real footage from a real conflict where lives were lost to sell video games is a bit tasteless, and just because other games did it first doesn't lessen that.
I think it would have been cooler to create cinematics of the war and War's involvement to really emphasize the supernatural aspect of the apocalypse, rather than splicing stock footage in there, but hey - the game still looks awesome.
even though it wont be in Jan, I'm really looking forward to Joe Danger.

low blow... uncalled for :P teasing us like that....
Is that Wii title?
Still need to beat Mass Effect, and waiting to see how MAG shapes up!

Who knew?!
Other than that, Darksiders seems to be a must-buy!
However I was bored to tears by most of this generic mush. They all look the same. Army of Two was the most appalling with it's turn on the spot bad guys, shooting at walls and probably running into them.
Mass Effect was the most impressive of the bunch, looks like some thought went into this, but again you still just shooting at hordes of dispensable bad guys. The only variance I can see is that some of the bad guys are harder than others.
With all these next gen shooters I still keep coming back to good old half life 2 and I'm still impressed. It's far more intelligent of a shooter than it's dumb cousins.
Games I'm looking forward to are not yet made. Let's do something about it.
for any interested, ign has a decent 30 min Darksiders preview which features what looks to me like a distinctly Josh Singh barbarian type guy, and they've got the AU review up already. i wont give any spoilers but I feel like I've ranked it in the right spot.
Little Big Planet with a bike!
Looks fun.
I was thinking of picking up Dante's Inferno... but I'm thinking maybe I'll go with Darksiders now, just looks sooooo good, and mai gawd... OOOZZINNNGGG with styllleee!!!!
And of course... number 1 buy will be the love of my life... Mass Effect 2.
This game was on my wanted list but now its probably at the top next to ME2.
You know how cheap I am, I went up to Gamestop to get either Assassins Creed 2 or Modern Warefare 2, and I left with Fallout 3 because it was 20 dollars....
please please please let there be a HUGE galaxy map
