The big important ones:
1. Get good enough for an industry job. (Same as every year, but I'll do it for real this time)
2. Learn to rock.
The supplementary ones (in no meaningful order):
- Stop drinking diet soda all the time and switch to unsweetened tea or plain water.
- Lose enough weight to fit into some of my favorite pants and t-shirts again.
- Hold onto, and do well in, my current job (or a better one if the opportunity arises) in the meantime while working on #1.
- Maybe get laid or something.
- Live alone. (Which would help with all of the other goals)
- live with my wife again, long distance sucks! Only 3 more months remaining.
- continue working out, Ultimate Frisbee, etc
- continue improving my art skills
- work on a console game again
- cut out red meat, only chicken or fish (debating about cutting land meat completely)
- less soda, more teas and h2o
-Have more sex with my wife (sorry single guys... good ones are out there I assure you).
-Start working out again... get down to 180.
-Practice modeling and achieve status at least slightly higher than "stoopid noob."
-Put at least one game out for Android.
... less time being a lazy bastard and using my time more wisely to improve my 2d and 3d art skills, get back to a regular gym schedule and get as much debt paid off as possible. Oh if possible, get my son potty-trained!
Pretty much this, but switch son with daughter and minus the debt, that was last years resolution that actually worked out... Well the useless credit card debt anyway, still another 20+ years until I own my home.

20 years+? That sucks! I heard you were pretty old already!! kidding...
hey you know a few of us should get together and make a kick ass game, collaboration wins, even over the net as has already been proven.
Yea I'm ancient, heh. Been here for 7 years. When I was growing up we moved about every 5 years so I keep hitting snooze on moving. Gotta get a dog and a yard soon. Cats are great and all... but yea they're cats.
So add that to the list: Move and get a dog. Not one of those dogs I can accidentally step on and kill. If it fits in a purse its not a dog...
- Find some work exp/paid work during the 6 months leading up to summer
- Go interrailing in the summer
- Find job after interrail
- Keep improving art skills
- become a better artist
- finish every piece/project I start
- get enough enviro work in my folio that I can actually start applying to studios
- ride my bmx more
- dont let life get me down
Last year resolution was get in shape, join military, start my life over. I'm in shape, I'm starting to be able to move my chest muscles, LOL, enlisted and I'm starting to be less shy, side effect from going to the gym. I got enganged, did my best to make it work but it didn't. I can lift over 130, but it's hard.
Get out of debt, complete my service with the army and come out of that in one piece and not insane. I want to learn, MMA, boxing, get married and have kids. So that will take a bit but whatever, I'll get there. I wanted to learn how to fix cars, now get to fix M1 abrams, the downside is I have to go get them when they break down in the battle field. I want to be able to lift 200 pounds easily, why sex. Now I have to wait until April 21 to ship out, boring!!! I want to be able to do 100 sit ups and 100 push ups in two minutes and run two miles in 12 minutes. I want to be able to have sex standing up as long as I want, LOL I never could do that so I think it's time I fix that.
-Lose weight! (pretty much a constant battle)
-Get a new job (the old one isn't gone yet, but it's on a timer)
-Pitch a game concept to Valve for Steam
-Start developing most promising concept (probably using Unity)
-Finish updating on-line portfolio/website
-Finish producing flash music video
-More portfolio pieces!
-More digital sculpting!
hum.. I guess these are good to have out there so I can check my progress as the year goes on!
- work harder/more efficiently than last year.
- fully pay off my student loan
- (re) learn to read music / play my guitar more
- read more
- get really good at ZBrush
- start doing actual personal projects in my free time. like, a real scene, not just an object or 2 hour portrait.
- go to classes to learn REAL painting (that's non-digital, folks!)
- meet new people
- go to another country
*- actually take time to RELAX instead of feeling like I should always be doing something!
- and yes... lose 15 lbs. (it's pretty hilarious seeing all the weight loss advertisements on radio and TV non stop for the new year. it seems to be everyone's goal, every year, because almost no one actually achieves it.)
I need to buy this damn new computer for starting 3D sculpting...
I need to learn this damn Japanese language and Kanjis...
I need to move my ass out from my computer for running outside 30min a day...
I need to get more money...
... and I need to be careful and do not create another baby this year hahaha...

-Do more with Moto X Mayhem.
-Take the stairs more. Start hiking more. Maybe do the West Coast Trail.
-Buy a house.
-Advance relationship... eep.
-Sleep more.
I'm not one for resolutions but my current job is doing its best to drive me batshit insane... so my one resolution that is a series of resolutions:
-finish 1st draft of massive animation script project... I'm about 3 or so 44 minute episodes from finishing a 20 episode series, took the last 3 months off with playing aion... =_=
-take said project and start concepting environments and locations
-model such locations for 3d environment portfolio
-????
-find new job
-with new job and almost all locations modeled in 3d... happily draw and fill in the scenework for script project turned storyboard project.
Be more motivated, for things like art and exercise nightly. Like schedule an hour and a half of time at home per night to work on personal art and furthering my knowledge of 3d and stuff to keep my skills up to par in case I gets laid off.
Work on more art (further skills)
Get my first industry job
Get back into the gym... what used to be a 6-pack became a 2-liter.
2009 was great for me, I got my gpa above 3.0, got a really great girl and finally finished school. I'm gonna work and make sure 2010 blows that one out of the water. Cheers!
Highest on my list is to stop smoking. So far so good thanks to the magic of toothpicks and gum. Part II is to loose that freshman 15 (or 50) and get back into shape. Oddly enough, having clean lungs helps you breathe better. Whodathunkit
Same here. And do art. And get a job. I think that is it. Hey, just look at my sentences. Do you see a simple interesting pattern? The lengths keep getting longer by one word.
1. stop binge drinking
2. stop smoking
3. stop eating fried food
4. start exercising
5. finish portfolio
6. get a good job
1. Haven't had a drink since new years eve, had some urges but beat them, never going to drink again, the benefits of abstinence are just too great.
2. Smoking less, this probably due to not drinking, about 10 a day compared to 20.
3. Less fried food, can't seem to cut it out completely but replaced alot of fried bacon and sausage sandwiches with lots of mixed salad.
4. Walking more but no real exercise yet, still have that fat belly, time to get rid.
5. and 6. Still building the portfolio and slowly getting closer to that dream job in the games industry.
Quickview benefits: much better sleeping quality and predictable patterns, more energy, better memory, better overall mood, longer and deeper concentration. Ok, I still suck in a few areas but now I can suck for longer and be happy about it too
I quit smoking about last april. For me it was necessity, my $40 a month habit doubled, and I couldn't afford it. What worked for me, I took one week to cut my smoking down from 20, to 4. Not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. Then I went to K-mart, (go to Target instead, their patches are MUCH cheaper. sometimes $20 cheaper) and got a box of patches. The cravings kicked in, but they were manageable, and a great side effect for the first few days, uncontrollable energy. I walked a LOT, and never got tired. Ever. So that helped with the weight loss at first. I didn't keep up the exercising, and packed on about 20 pounds, so KEEP EXERCISING!!
My brother smokes, and when I was around him after a couple of weeks of not smoking, I smelled the smoke in the air, and I swear to god it smelled like sour cat farts. Now the only thing I miss about smoking, is taking a little time at the end of the day, to sit out side, smoke, and contemplate where I am in life. That's it. Using the patch made quitting a billion times easier.
