Hey pcounters, here's an idea for a model I've been poking about with for a while. Well, atleast some early thumbs for it.
I want it to be of somekind of retro futuristic design, abit soviet, lots of weight and attitude, one arm should be a gun and the general silhouette should be read as a square. With that being said, here's the first batch o' ideas.

I like 2 the best, but 1 is sweet too......so is three.
I like 2 but feel like it should have 1's left arm as its right arm
or 3 with a heavier left arm (more of a gorilla look) o^.^o

kaburan; yeah, I'll definately keep that arm in mind for the final design.
Some more thumbs. I kinda like the 'capsule' on A because the shape reminds me of one of those russian fur hats.
Kind of reminds me of the transformer bulkhead with the heavy torso and stuby legs.

woogity, i dont quite understand what you mean. I'm going for something like the bot I did in this ol' concept, ie. one arm replaced by a gun.

final batch o thumbs beforem oving on to a proper concept. Trying to consolidate some of the ideas.

noltan - yup they're pretty rough, I like keeping them somewhere between silhouettes and rough thumbs. I've no idea whats going on there either to be honest.
Konstruct - haha, yeah I'd hate to face a cartman-bot on the battlefield. he'd be one sadistic muthafucka. :>
so here's pretty much the final concept I'm going for. I've taken bits from the thumbs that I thought was intresting shapewise and left a few others out that didnt fit the overall design and initial read.
Still, the concept is done really well; will be following this with interest.
yeah, with all said and done, here's the hi poly.
noticed there's a few cables that probably could do with a smoothing.

Kinda reminds me a a mechanical version of one of colossus's from Shadow of the Colossus.
