Did u seek to expand upon the concept, in thinking what appendages this alien would have, the scale, etc. anything that could redefine any shapes of the gun.

Blockout looks pretty good so far. It'd be helpful though if you had provided a side and front view as well so it'd be easier to compare directly to the concept. Is that large round gap where the front of the hand grip is a perfect circle? The concept makes it look like it's more or less one with just a couple of indentations and a gap in it. From what I can tell yours looks a little skewed. Also, there's definitely some internal components / mass where you have that empty gap behind the back of the barrel right now. I assume you're going to fill that in as well since it looks totally solid in the concept. Other than that I don't see any glaring flaws with it at this stage. Keep on it.

Thanks for posting the extra views up! I knew that round area looked off, hah. I'd say just get the majority lined up to be more of a perfect circle and then cut in the little indents out of it like you have already. Here's the parts that were most glaring to me at the stage you're at with this. I'm probably just being nitpicky though.
Lookin' good! Idk how I feel about that new piece though, the one that wraps around that drum and over the barrel. It feels a bit out of place, I can see what you're trying to do with it though. Keep it up!

ok guys i had some fun with the cryengine, no major problems other than the fact that i can't adjust the default camera clipping and i can't get close to the weapon because of clipping .If anyone knows how to adjust camera clipping in cryengine 3 please tell me.
I haven't abandoned this thing, on the contrary i've been working on a diorama for it .Some test i've done, i'm not done yet and lol at my hacky methods of texturing that thing :poly139:

I think those veins were more redish in the original concept i'll try that and maybe darken them a bit.

I just feel like the whole things just "works", it just has a certain vibe or feel to it that I really like.
only minor detail is that those glowy bits look a bit plastic to me, wich in turn gives them a bit of a static feel.
I think those veins were more redish in the original concept i'll try that and maybe darken them a bit.
