Agreed.
Polycount comes up at the top of Google searches more often than not, and there is nothing more frustrating than thinking you've found the answer to a problem only to find a deleted post.

Oh sorry! I think the solution had to do with me not having both sides of the archway snapped to the grid

if you import Your mesh , keep the axes at the extreme point (vertex- for exemple down-right) , then Your snaping under UDK should perfect .:poly142:
