Skaven Catapult - WIP

Hey guys. This is the culmination of a few days of work. I've never done a stylized sort of art piece, and I really dig the Warhammer art style so I tackled this catapult.

As you can see it isn't done yet. There's some obvious clipping and one visible seam. And for some reason Marmoset also rendered the back wheel all black to my dismay. Despite this I think it's starting to really come along. I'll shelve it for now, but I do want to make this a portfolio piece one day so I will come back to it.

Any tips you guys can offer, especially in painting? It isn't quite done yet, and I really want to go for a hand painted sort of look.

looking really good so far. i really like the wood wheels , i'm also really big fan of the war hammer art style, used to play skaven on war-hammer: mark of chaos all the time :P



you might be able to apply some of these techniques to hand painting in the metal areas found here:

i don't have access to a computer with my files atm. It's pretty high poly for what it is, 25K polys. Cuz it was meant to be a high res portfolio piece. So i'm not sure if wireframe is necessary. When I can though I'll totally put up the textures.

Also rageleet, ty for that tut. I've seen this guy's tuts before but i never knew he ahd a video on it. I'll definitely look into it thanks.
