This looks very valve-y. TF2 ish characters and that robot looks like its made by the same creator of the portal bots.
I just really hope they keep it stealthy and assassin-like instead of going all assassins creed 3 etc on us. I DO NOT want to run in and punch 10 people in this stealth game
It's built from the ground up with simulation in mind and giving the player as much agency as possible. With the Arx Fatalis guys and Harvey Smith on the job, I dare say there's a good chance they'll pull it off. Regardless, whatever they do wind up with is going to be a far cry from the limited interactions of Assassins Creed and its ilk.

Yep, more like an assassin version of the original thief games, freedom of choice!

Pretty awesome trailer. I'm definitely looking forward to that one.
I gotta say though, Drunken Sailor is a real odd choice for the music for the trailer. I love what they did with it musically, but the lyrics of an old Irish song don't really make sense with the game's context. I kept thinking of the Irish Rovers (huge fan btw)
Or maybe I'm missing something with the context. Maybe they were going for a more humorous thing? But I didn't get any kind of humor from the rest of the game.
I think it's reference to what's going on, such as 'sailor' being replaced with 'whaler' (pretty sure I read somwhere that the society relies heavily on whaling) and maybe the drunken part is reference to the plague afflicting the people.
Either way I really liked it and am excited about the game
I saw the CG trailer first, a month or so ago, and it looked awesome. Seeing the actual game reminds me a lot of, as other people have already said, Half Life 2, and a bit of Bioshock Infinite. Parts of the CG trailer reminded me of Thief, too. It does *look* lovely, but I don't know. I feel like I've seen all of this before, already.
Am I the only one that gets a bit nervous knowing Harvey Smith is lead designer for it?

Looking Glass alumnus designer who worked on System Shock and Deus Ex working on an "immersive simulation" based game? Nervous wouldn't have been the word I'd have used. Invisible War and Blacksite aren't great games, but both had extremely troubled developments - massive technical issues & publisher and scheduling issues respectively. There are some curious design decisions in IW, but it's mostly pretty minor stuff. Once you get past all that, it is a pretty decent game in the Deus Ex universe.

Yeah, he's worked on some awesome games, no doubt. The original Deus Ex is my most revered game. But it seems like he only does well when he's working underneath someone. When he takes lead, it seems his projects have turned out to be a flop.
I know it's not as simple as that, but it's a bit too much of a coincidence, too. Hoping this one works out for him, as the visuals so far are looking pretty damn tasty.
One thing remains unanswered. Can you kick? That's what made "The Adventures of Sir Kicksalot Deathboot in the Land of the Conspicuously Placed Spike Racks" so fun.

As far as I`m concerned this game will serve as my HL3 experience that I have been waiting for. I will also be holding it to such standards- :P

Looks great Like a combo of Dark Messiah and Thief.
Two of my favourite games, so I'm really looking forward to this!
