There are some very interesting shapes in this design. The handle does not look like it would be very comfortable to hold, though. You might want to simplify that part a bit.
I haven't really talked about my process yet, so I suppose I'll say something.
I basically sketched out some of the ideas that are on page one and then worked them out in zbrush with dyna-mesh and z-spheres. I do a lot of back and forth between zbrush and photoshop sculpting and painting ideas. some shapes, like the armor type shells are easier for me to design in zbrush while webby tissue and tendon stuff were easier to design in 2D first. I don't often sculpt loosely with clay tubes.
anyhow it's time to put down the stylus and do some retopo.
Not much left to do after the texture. Here it is. I'm going to have a busy weekend so I don't think I'll have time to go in and clean up the brush strokes. But seeing the strokes is kind of cool right?
