make this into a shader!
I made a shader like this.....a long time ago. tiled Noise + Lerp (Reverse Rim Light) added to the diffuse/spec (spec optional). It will really help sell that spray painted feel. I hope you try this I think it could look really sick with a shader like this on here.
THanks for all of your help and feedback guys! I'm calling this one done finally!
dudealan2001: I'm not really crazy about that "flake". It's not something they did in the 40's and is only something they've started doing within the past 20 years or so.
The soda cans you have in your picture look nothing like first generation soda cans. Even by the early 50's the two largest soda company's, Pepsi and Coca Cola were resistant to cans.
By 1955 most of the other soft drink manufacturers were canning there drinks. Canada Dry, Dad's, White Rock, Franks and Hires were all putting their product in cans. A lot of the early cans were cone tops but flat top cans soon won the war, as they were easier to stack and store on the retailers shelves
Edit: but the scene is looking great otherwise Wes
On the topic of cans: It's one of those great examples of when to push an idea - the age of this environment. While cans may have been around for some time, people will more easily associate the era of this photo with glass bottles then crumpled and old style cans of soda.

Cities don't change much over time so buildings like that will be here probably for 100 years more.
