Ok, so I did everything from the top unwrapped it made symetrical, so now it's only four islands, the quality is good, and it's really easier. Besides didn't take a lot of time to fix it. Thanks again for the advise, hope I didn't do any mistakes
Glowy bits are always a plus but I hope you experiment with different colours for the rest of the weapon. Right now it's a bit bland.
This is demonic right? What about some evil "red" with blood dripping down and in the crevices. Well either way just mess around with colour and Photoshop layer modes and you'll find something funky. Good luck.
yea it's demonic, I was thinkin of including blod stains or something like that. Still have a lot to do with the textures, new experiments coming soon..
Think you need alot more color/contrast. Think it was bobo who mentioned that they almost/never go for a monocromatic look. Would also help seperate the different materials on the mace.
had a little break, but now I'm back on track.
made a lot of changes, many people like different color variation, I'm a bit confused right now. So I have there models.
Ultimately I will choose one and finish it completely.
Also used Meshbin, just to test it..
The colors feel like they're contrasting in a bad way. What about a more volcanic theme to the inner light? Reds and oranges? If that's not where you want to go, what if you spread the light a little further around the mace head? Like have the light pour out from seams where the heavy bone plates meet?
thanks for the feedback, but I don't really like my own results, so I think I will return back to the goldish type of mace.
Just added some colors and contrast to it, one has I bit too mush I think.
Stylish and really looking like it could smash everything. Great job! I think I liked the red scales variety the most, at least how it appeared at Meshbin.
I would definitely go with the red one you presented, it has a nice touch of contrast in my opinion
But trying some more darker values could be also good. Good luck with this!
thanks for your comments as I can see most of you liked the redish one, but right now I just can't see it that way. To me it doesn't look that good. I will think about changing the colors but there's not many chances..
by the I have a question about a submition thread, it was said: The submission thread will be created and open one week before the submission deadline. so it should be created now, maybe it is but I just can't find it )
I see there is still time to make something, so I decided to sketch this time, perhaps I can make another weapon, if I'm correct we can add more than one.

Just the turquoise feels a little clashy in it.
Now I took Spug's suggestion of painting and got this result, have few variations:
waiting for crits

played around a bit more, just for fun, don't even know if it's good or not, I was staring at for way too long to notice anything else..
Otherwise nice progress!

Maybe red faces/black scales?
