I gotta say i'm a fan of the design below the top left. But I think you need to bulk it out a bit more and have it attached to the hilt in a more solid secure way.
I also like the one you've fleshed out most recently, a lot of scope there. Fourth on the top row (with the big blade) is interesting, not sure that the gold detail fits with the awesome green scary face though.
cool progress on this one, imo the nose of the axe could be a little bigger so it would give some more mass to the entire thing. If you looks at darksiders weapons they're almost always big at the top.
For the bottom of the weapon i would try to bring back some shapes from the top part

Very nice, very solid looking. I like the combination of rectangular and round shapes. Although I would say the pommel bit at the bottom looks slightly flimsy to me.
cool progress man, if you'd approuch the pommel more like the concept i think it will look way better.
Also try to do something interesting with the big stone. Maybe add some ruins or something to break up the big shape a bit
cool process. The slim connections between the pieces give it somewhat an elemental look.
Maybe increase the big concrete part to make it more lethal and try to break it up by giving it some mythical runes.
Loving the shapes on this bad boy. Whats happen on the bottom of the hammer head? Is rock being stitched over itself? That just seems weird to me since rock can't really do that.
I like the idea of adding that design but if you notice the placement of it in the reference image it is on the back side of the blade which helps bring some attention to the blank striking edge of the scythe. The current location of the design on your mace adds interest in the wrong place, and if anything makes the back lower part of the hammer pop. While I personally think you don't NEED the design on there, adding it in a different location with a bit more falloff as it blends into the mace could be effective.
2,5k tris atm
here's a close up
the wrap and the arcs are eating tris,
have to make them less round
still thinking what to do with the wraps
most parts also have a symmetry line, so if i delete that i get less tris
but sacrefice UV space
maybe diagonal symmetry texturing?
enough for today
ps: the places where the bolts are, aren't finished yet, gonna delete the bolts and their holes
they don't add alot to the silhouette
I would say yes, you should simplify the handle. This area will be covered by Deaths hands anyway, so it will be the least seen part of your weapon.
Your hammer definitely looks very 'Maker'! I agree the woven pattern isn't reading the way I tihnk you want it to. What I see on your sculpt is more of an almost literal cloth weaving pattern, whereas the pattern shown on the scythe example is more celtic, almost diamond shaped chain links.
It is also interesting to see on the example scythe that maybe the pattern covered the entire scythe blade surface and has since been worn down to a flat blade from use. On your sculpt, the conflict is between this theme with the woven pattern, and the runes, which appear more carved into their original surface.
1532 tris
could go lower but i think i leave it on this
and i can always easily go back to my old files if necesarry
removed a lot of tris on the wraps around the handle
and left a little bit at the top of the wraps, since thats a place death holds his hands not often (i assume)
and fit's the bounding box oke, so i think i'm fine now
might scale the weapon a little bit smaller in the end

ill do that, thx for the feedback
here's another one
i think it's lil better but still not good enough
gonna try again tomorrow
it looks more aggressive
only wondering what i should do with teh handle
feedback guys!
For the bottom of the weapon i would try to bring back some shapes from the top part
i made the weapon bigger and it looks better
but then the problem is that i get out of the green box
so have to redo the back
also when i mirrored it i was like wtf
it felt wrong
so rethinking the back
also still trying to find a cool idea for the bottom part
changed the inside and put it on the picture with death for scale test
to bad its someone else 's IP
else i def would make it
goodnight
now i m really gonna quit for today
ill post the concept art when i get home
the 3d is made very quick but was just trying to get the proportions

it's from the stickey topic
@evil
thx for the paintover
now i see beter why i should bulk it up
wondering if the hammer isn't too big
made a patern at the left bottom
and added runes left and right
is right to much runes on small spot?
and they are making a maker hammer o.O
wished i saw this before
first i was only going to use that
but then i added runes
but they don't fit together that good
alot of people don't like the patern at bottom left on the hammerhead
should i keep it
also the runes on the hammerhead aren't that good
might redo m
Don't be rude. Give some constructive criticism at least.
It looks pretty good. My one critique would be that it does feel a bit gooey, but hopefully that doesnt translate in the low poly.
Maybe you should read two posts up.
Anyway I'd remove it. I believe that pattern was used to enthasize the sharpness of the blade but you are doing a blunt hammer.
i'm not easily offended so no worrys
and thx blupanda for the info
might gonna try it

I guess pick one theme and go with it!
