Here is the direction that I'm heading at the moment. Still planning to add some skulls and do some work on the blade.

Wow! I love the design. All I have to critique is that right now the edges of the blades seem very blunt, but you said there was still work to be done on those so I guess I don't really have anything. Great work so far.

Nice design, agree pretty much with everything Broken said. What is the blade made of? That one part that joins the two different blades on one side looks a little weird with the line. Keep up the good work.

After looking at more reference and learning more about the Darksiders world I have started off in a new direction. Still early, but so far I think this is a better style.

Looking good. Just wondering though what your thoughts are on the holes on the blade. What made you carve them? As in what do you think caused such damage? I can understand scratches but I get this "rock" vibe when I see those holes. What do you think?

Thanks Habboi - good call on the holes. I guess those dont read too well. The original feeling on those was that they were imperfections in the metal. Not from battle damage, but just from the way the blade was made. I'll play with it some and see what I can come up with that is more believable. Thanks again.

Added a few more details and cleaned up the blade some. About to start on the lowply mesh.
