Well it may not be as fancy as some of the other top entries but you've done well to keep within the Maker theme and the tri budget so you should earn brownie points in my book. Keep going.
Don't forget to really push those edges! Doesn't really look like they are showing up much in the diffuse, so an increased cavity map would help a lot.
Push some gradients in there as well, you could give the yellow some warmer shadows and wear down the colour in the more exposed areas
Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll definitely pump up the cavity map this time through. I'll get some more hue variation as well.
Just finished the AO bake, now I'm gonna pop the cavity map in and try to figure out some color stuff. What looked good in my block in paint over concept thing isn't looking as great in full 3D.
Experimenting a little bit with the colour scheme. Going to try at least one or two more tomorrow before I start actually painting the texture. Any thoughts?
This is looking much better than a few updates ago. Good job.
I think you should do something to highlight or bring focus to the moustache guy's face. I think the dark parts that aren't the beard are blending into the rest of the hammer too much.
Thanks eazy. I tried to add more variation, hopefully it was enough.
Well, that's a wrap! Damn... what an experience. I learned tons and tons of stuff throughout this whole process. Big thanks to Polycount and Vigil, this was a ton of fun. And of course huge thanks to everyone in the community and especially those who gave me all the comments and critique.
Last update, good luck to everyone still awake right now trying to finish it off!
