Hi , it woudl be possible to bake the Fur created for animals or other things in zbrush on a low poly model as normal map or displacement or somethingelse?
Looked at the fur video... I think it's more for illustration purposes inside zbrush. I do have to say that is cool to see your character with different hair styles. But for games... I think you are better of with another solution. Something like this maybe. Like Froyok said, you'll be better off exporting to another app like max, xnormal. Anyway not long until you'll try and see first hand.
Well, I don't remember where, but I found this some time ago when they announced the fur video :
And as said on the official thread :
"FiberMesh will create a fully sculptable PolyMesh 3D object.
The FiberMesh density can range from few polygons to several millions of polygons and it may also be exported, just like any other PolyMesh3D."
Ok but my question is more like : it coudl be possible to project those furs like a normal map ?so that the normal map baked in xnormal for example ( supposing that you can export the fur itself ) woudl result in a nice fur normal map on a model ....
It would bake ... but i won't look like fur. You'll have to use proper realtime techniques to create a fur effect. Sorry, no quick and easy solution here!

So I'm pretty sure that it will be exportable.
that woudl be supercool ...
